York Firefighter & Area Jeep Lovers Honor Fallen Heroes YORK – York resident Dave Lorandeau and Red Line Jeeps, a custom fabrication company based in southern Maine, will sponsor the area’s second annual Coastline Cruise rally and fundraising drive to raise money for the Maine Summit Project. The Summit Project is a charitable organization founded in 2013 by Mainer and USMC Major David Cote to pay tribute to fallen service members from Maine who have died in the line of duty since September 11, 2001. The event will kickoff this Saturday, May 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Jackson’s Hardware park-

ing lot, 56 US Route 1 Bypass, Kittery, with a rally where Jeep owners can gather, show off their vehicles and socialize before departing for a scenic
drive up the Maine coast, terminating at Bentley’s Saloon in Arundel. “I think it’s important to look for ways to give back to
the community and honor the men and women who’ve served our country, said Lorandeau, who also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the York Village Fire Department. “It’s been a rough winter, so this is a great way for Jeep lovers across southern Maine and our neighboring states to enjoy the warm weather while supporting a great cause. The Coastline Jeep Cruise is part of an international fundraising event organized by Jeep enthusiasts across the country to kick off the warm-weather season with an annual “Go Topless Day, where Jeep owners strip off their hard and soft-tops covers to take to the roads and enjoy the open air.
Organizers act independently, raising money for the charities of their choice while utilizing the “Go Topless tagline and social media platforms to promote their favorite causes. Participants pay an entry fee and raffle off donated items, with all proceeds in Maine going to the Summit Project. “The Maine Summit Project does an outstanding job of honoring Maine service members who fought for our country and never made it home. We’re honored to support them, Lorandeau added. For more information, visit Red Line Jeeps or the Summit Project on Facebook, or www. thesummitproject.com.
