Local Towns Observe Memorial Day with Parades, Services May 29, 9 a.m. Parade from the Elementary School with services following at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Marshwood H.S. band will be play and Rosemary Staples will sing the National Anthem. Guest speaker is Major General (Ret.) Susan Y. Desjardins, who served in the USAF for more than 3 decades.
Local Towns Observe Memorial Day with Parades, Services YORK COUNTY Parades, speeches, and the laying of wreaths at memorials will pay tribute on Memorial Day to those who fought and died in America's Wars. A partial list of local parades and ceremonies planned for Monday include: BERWICK Monday, May 29, 11 a.m. Parade starts the Berwick Town Hall, 11 Sullivan Street and proceeds to Lord's Cemetery, where a memorial service will be held. The parade will continue to the Somersworth-Berwick Bridge
where a brief ceremony will be held in memory of those lost at sea. The parade will conclude where it started, at Sullivan Square, with a memorial service
honoring area veterans who lost their lives in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I and II, Korea and Vietnam.
KENNEBUNK May 29, 2 p.m. The route will take marchers along Main Street and feature the Kennebunk High School band, among others. KENNEBUNKPORT May 29, 9:30 a.m. Parade from the Masonic Hall on

Temple Street followed by a stop at the Kennebunk River Bridge for a 21 Gun Naval Salute, continuing to Dock Square for a full ceremony. KITTERY May 27, 9 a.m. Parade from the ambulance station on Walker Street to Orchard Grove Cemetery. Line up will be at old fire station on Walker Street. NORTH BERWICK May 29, 9 a.m. Parade begins at the Village Square and travels through town to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, ending at the village monument at the triangle. See PARADES page 33...

York Hospital 5K Road & Cross Country Race YORK Join hundreds of other runners and walkers on Saturday, June 3 at the York Hospital 5K Road and Cross Country Race. Proceeds will benefit Cancer Care at York Hospital. The race welcomes all to enjoy 3.1 miles of scenic York, including local landmarks such as the Wiggly Bridge and Steedman Woods— offering mile markers, two water stops and professional timing. However, the event also sports a festive atmosphere where race supporters are as welcome as the race registrants. Familyfriendly activities include facepainting, bean bag tossing and
a DJ to energize the crowd. All will enjoy healthy snacks and refreshments – fresh fruit, yogurts, KIND bars, water and a free coffee truck for hot or cold iced coffees! Special prizes will be awarded to the top male and
