Inn to be Reimagined under the Walker Team By Alyssa McArdle, Staff Reporter CAPE NEDDICK Justin and Danielle Walker, the husband and wife powerhouse team from Earth in Kennebunkport, have taken over the Cape Neddick Inn restaurant and are ready to bring their unique brand of local cuisine to York diners. The Walkers have already led a storied career in the Southern Maine culinary scene, and have a storybook romance to match. Almost twenty years ago, Justin went straight from culinary school to the kitchen of Arrows, the James Beard AwardWinning restaurant led by Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier. Danielle was contemplating medical

When she walked into Arrows to apply, Justin was there to welcome her.

“I had spotted her coming up the driveway and I dumped out my soda water so I’d have an excuse to be out there to meet her, he said. Naturally, she was hired. The pair soon became a dominant force at Arrows, with Justin running the show in the kitchen under Mark and Clark and Danielle managing the front of the house operations, as well as the wine program and private events. Their skills complemented each other perfectly, and they knew they had a future together professionally as well as personally. In 2010, Danielle made the

Summer STEM Program Coming to Coastal Ridge Elementary Camp Invention

WELLS Camp Invention, a nationally recognized, nonprofit summer enrichment camp program, is coming to Coastal Ridge Elementary the week of July 10-14. Camp Invention is a program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame, a nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing inventors and invention, promoting creativity, and advancing the

spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, supported by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). What makes this camp truly unique is that the curriculum is inspired by some of our nation's most brilliant minds, the Inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. For students entering kindergarten through sixth grade, Camp Invention is a weeklong adventure that turns the summer

from ordinary to extraordinary through hands-on problem solving, collaboration, and the use of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Inventive young minds can exercise their creativity and use their imagination, all while learning and developing new skills they typically don't get to use in the classroom. Ranco (Little Deer) passed away in June of 2008 at the age of 96 years. She was born on the Penobscot Indian Reservation in Old Town Maine and at the time of her death was the oldest member of the tribe. She was very proud of her heritage and was very interested and active in the welfare and progress of the tribe. Born on February 17, 1912, Valentine was given her name by her mother, Marie Lewis Morris, since she was expected on Valentine’s Day, arriving only a few days late. She lived her early years on Orson Island with her grandparents, Louis and Lizzie Lolar, while her mother worked to support them. When she was 5 years old, she was transported by canoe to attend school on Indian Island, which was taught by nuns. Valentine lived a full life, and with her husband, Leslie J.

Ranco, owned and operated the Indian Moccasin Shop on Route 1 in Wells for over 50 years (now run by her daughter June Lane). Valentine enjoyed making Indian crafts, knitting, sewing, gardening, music, dancing, playing cards and board games with her grandchildren and cooking and feeding anyone who visited. She was one of the original members of St. Mary’s Sodality at St. Mary’s Church in Wells. PARKING NOTICE: The Town of Wells has revised the parking pattern events at Wells Harbor Park. ~ News ~ Budget Passes! STATEWIDE After months of budget negotiations through the Appropriations Committee, leadership meetings, and four convened Committees of Conference, a budget compromise was finally reached in the early hours of July 4 that received support from the House, Senate

and the Governor. In addition to including the repeal of the 3% surtax and $162 million in additional K-12 education funding, the enacted budget does not include any increase to the state’s lodging tax. This was one of the most important issues to a majority of the Maine Tourism Association’s membership.

KENNEBUNK Atria Kennebunk residents Lou MacNeill, Therese Viger and Dorcas Cofer took to the ocean from Kennebunkport on the First Chance Whale Watch tour! They were delighted to see a few minke whales, that are part of the baleen whale family. It was a glorious way to celebrate the summer solstice as these species of whale are very social. Lou

and Threrese have never been on a whale watch tour. “My husband and I liked to do just about everything but we never thought to go whale watching, said Viger. Dorcas was reminded of her years when she owned her own sailboat. She never took her eyes off the sea and sky and was mesmerized. MacNeill said, “When you’re our age you have to be adventurous.

...INN from page 1 move to Earth at Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport. Two years later Justin followed. Earth has been wildly popular under their control, adding an edgier choice to the largely conservative milieu of restaurants in the Kennebunks. “It’s surprised me how much people have gravitated towards the funkier dishes, Justin said. A recent bestseller was a farmer’s sausage made mostly of pig skin and pork belly. Earth’s clientele raved about it. The Walkers hope to see the same excitement for innovative cuisine at their new location, though they have not made their imprint on the restaurant yet. “We haven’t changed anything so far, Danielle explained. The menu, staff and physical space are all as they were when David Heavner, who owned the restaurant for ten successful years, handed the keys over in May. The Walkers plan to stay the course for the summer, then close Cape Neddick Inn briefly in the fall to renovate and relaunch it in their vision.

Arrows closed its doors in 2013, and, after briefly reopening as the Velveteen Habit, the space is for sale again. While the Arrows property may seem the more poetic spot for the Walkers to have purchased, Cape Neddick Inn is better suited to their vision. “[Arrows] is a tough spot because it’s extremely expensive to run and it’s very hard for a restaurant to support it, Justin said. “And we have our own farm. The Walkers live in Cape Neddick, just down the road from where they first met, in a farmhouse that has been in Danielle’s family for years. Their son is the sixth generation to live there. On their farm, the Walkers cultivate their own vegetables and herbs, some of which diners can expect to see on the menu after relaunch. Speaking of that relaunch, the Walkers stay fairly elusive except to say that the menu will be innovate and locally driven like that of Earth but with a lower price point. “For now we have wanted to keep Cape Neddick Inn open and operational, to get to know the staff and the clientele, Danielle said. All staff has been invited to stay on through the transition. “We will close for a little while when we make our changes. “We hope that people know our style, Justin said. “And we plan to put our stamp on the like every owner has. The Walkers purchased the restaurant along with business partners Kara DioGuardi, Mike McCuddy and John and Sandi Roth. They closed on the deal on the 17th anniversary of their first date, which they hope is a good omen. “After years of talking about doing this, this is our shot, Justin said.

~ Arts & Entertainment ~ Local Mom Writes First Children’s Book; Plans Future Foundation for Young Scholars YORK Amanda Marie Woods , a young mother of two small children, living in York, has published her first children’s book, “The Robot & The Ballerina. With full-time jobs as head of marketing for Wiggly Bridge Distillery and helping to run other family businesses, Woods has a busy schedule juggling it all, but she managed to carve out time for writing four years ago. Inspired by the imaginations of her children and nephews and nieces, she wrote and illustrated stories for them, which she would upload to Shutterfly to create an “instant’ book every Christmas. The feedback from family and friends was tremendous and Woods felt encouraged to share her stories with a larger audience. With her various jobs and community work, she was lacking for spare time but not for passion. “Life is so busy but when you have a dream and a passion, you can find a way to make

time,â€? says Woods. Even so, the idea of publishing a book was daunting but when Woods discovered how self-publishing could make it easier, she went for it. The hardest decision in the process was deciding if she should use her own illustrations. She ultimately opted to use an illustrator that could create computer drawings that promised a better ondemand print quality, but hopes to use her own illustrations next time. Woods wrote “The Robot & The Ballerinaâ€? in one evening and it just flowed out. It happened on election night 2016, which offered the unique opportunity for her to stay up late and she used the time to put pen to paper. In the book, the child, Belle was inspired by the personalities of her own children — she is a bright and fun girl with a bold imagination. Belle loves to dress as a ballerina who pirouettes and chassĂŠs her way through her everyday life and

adventures. One morning when she wakes up early and wanders around the house to see what fun she can stumble upon, she finds a box and her imagination runs wild. Woods dreams of starting a not-forprofit that aims to promote reading for school children, while supporting local authors. This notfor-profit already has a name, Stories for Students but does not exist yet as Woods does not yet have the funds she’ll need to get it off the ground. All proceeds from The Robot & The Ballerina are going towards funding Stories for Students The book went live on Amazon on June 8, and almost immediately hit the Amazon #1 New Release in Children’s Dance Books and Robot Books. Woods has used her marketing chops to share updates on the book via Facebook and it’s fun to follow the behind the scenes the making of the book: https:// www.facebook.com/TheRobotandTheBallerina/.

Health & Fitness Elder Abuse Task Force Fundraiser YORK COUNTY Trying to stop elder abuse is not always satisfying. Sometimes you keep a family member from stealing money, but in the process you might destroy a caretaker relationship, noted local banker Mike Moloney. Moloney runs trainings for tellers at Kennebunk Savings Bank, but he makes sure to tell employees that wonder-

ful outcomes are rare when you uncover elder abuse. More likely, the damage is controlled. Nonetheless, Moloney knows it is important to address this problem and has joined a task force of police officers, educators, social workers, lawyers and financial professionals in the York Country Elder Abuse Task Force. “From my involvement in the financial services industry, I

have seen first hand the damage elder abuse or elder financial abuse can do to a senior citizen,

said Moloney, one of 14 task force members who who work to spread knowledge about the

to end elder abuse. The force hopes to sell 150 tickets, which will go a long way to funding its main event of the year, an educational conference on elder abuse. Admission fees pay some of the cost, but this fundraiser will make up the difference, said Moloney. Founded 13 years ago by Kennebunk Police Officer Candice L. Simeoni, the task force also gives a $500 scholarship to a local high school student for a winning essay on elder abuse and makes a wish come true for a senior citizen. This year, the task force bought a mattress and all new linens for a woman in Kennebunk who hadn't changed her mattress in 50 years. When the task force realized the woman had dental issues, they arranged for a dentist to treat her at a reduced cost. Task force members, who meet monthly, work together to tackle questionable circumstances. and decide what to do in cases of possible abuse, which can run the gamut from financial to sexual to emotional abuse. For Moloney it is, of course, about emotional abuse. About three-quarters of the nation’s wealth belongs to the elderly, Moloney said. The elderly are easy to identify and are often socially isolated. As they age become increasingly vulnerable to predatory activities.. “Elder abuse is similar to how domestic abuse was 40 years ago, Moloney said “We as a society don't fully recognize it as a societal problem. We consider it a family problem, and 90 percent of abuse by a family member. Anyone interested in attending “Buddy for the fundraiser should contact the task force through its Facebook page.

BUSINESS & FINANCE Live the Life you Want – Now and in the Future

Al Zdenek noticed early in his career that his clients, and people in general, had not received a good financial education and had not surrounded themselves with the best advisors. As a result, they were not making the best financial decisions for themselves or their families and at times were making disastrous choices. This is what inspired Zdenek to write the book “Master Your Cash Flow, which provides the way to make the 100 percent correct financial decision and help individuals and families grow and retain wealth and live the life they want now and in the future. “Educating someone on how to consistently make the

best financial decisions lets them avoid the costly mistakes most make in their lives,â€? says Zdenek, president, CEO and founder of Traust Sollus Wealth Management. “By consistently making the best financial decisions, they can find more cash flow to spend or save. Saving this new cash flow, they may achieve financial independence sooner, work less in life and have less anxiety and stress in their financial lives.â€? Zdenek says one way that people can start reaching their financial goals is by using debt smarter, and getting away from the mindset that all debt is bad. Here are some more ways to empower people to transform lives by consistently making the best financial decisions possible. • Focus. Many don’t know where to begin to take control

of their cash flow. If you don’t know, get help, says Zdenek. The busy lives that people lead can cause them to not spend the time looking at the amounts they spend and why. Those who don’t focus on where their money is going could end up wasting a lot of it, and in the long run have to work harder and longer in life. • Don’t Concentrate On Just Saving Pennies At The Expense of Living How You Wish Now. Zdenek and Madonna probably don’t run in the same circles, but they do have one thing in common: Neither one believes in just saving pennies and not enjoying life. While Madonna was hoping for some bling in her ‘80s hit song “Material Girl,â€? Zdenek says go ahead and buy that pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. It is necessary in

your life to enjoy the things that make you happy, just as long as you continue to make smart decisions on bigger issues that affect your future wealth so that you can live the way you want for the rest of your life. • Look High And Low. There are plenty of overlooked places where people find opportunities for increased cash flow. Those include proper income tax planning, structuring debt property, finding a better job, taking full advantage of company benefits, leasing vs buying, running your business more effectively, managing property and casualty insurance effectively and many more. “I want to educate people on how to make the best financial choices for themselves and their loved ones, 100 percent of the time,â€? Zdenek says. “In doing this, they are empowered to live

the lives they wish, now and in the future. Al Zdenek is the president, CEO and founder (1982) of Traust Sollus Wealth Management, a boutique wealth management firm dedicated to empowering people to transform their lives and live the life they wish now and in the future. This is done by consistently making the best financial decisions. His book, “Master Your Cash Flow, (www.MasterYourCashFlowBook.com) shows readers how to determine the wealth they need and then find additional cash flow and, if saved, build wealth sooner or have more wealth to live the lifestyle they desire now and forever. 4 Ways to Escape the Rental Trap

...FAIL from page 18 and CEO of Zonopact Inc., a software development firm that specializes in innovative business solutions. Don’t get him wrong. Businesses that encourage employees to innovate have the right idea, says Ramgir, who also is the author of Unbarred Innovation: A Pathway to Greatest Discoveries. But they can’t assume their breakthroughs will succeed on merit alone. The development process must take even the tiniest possible customer pushback into consideration. He says mistakes companies make include: Not caring about price. Many innovative companies neglect to do a cost-benefit analysis from the customer’s point of view, Ramgir says. Even if a product has more benefits than what is currently on the market, people won’t buy it if the price is too high. For example, a thermostat with built-in Wi-Fi that can be programmed remotely and saves energy is fantastic. But if it costs $300, and you can get a programmable thermostat with fewer bells and whistles for less than $50, the customer base could be limited. Ignoring optics. An idea may be wonderful and beneficial, but still look bad to consumers, Ramgir says. Remember the Segway, the twowheeled electric vehicle for scooting down city sidewalks? As nifty as it was, the Segway never took off. There were several reasons, Ramgir says, but

one of those is that in a time of obesity worries, health-conscious people didn’t want to be viewed as lazy by riding a device that eliminates the need for walking. Disregarding social norms. A product will fail if it makes people feel uncomfortable. A good example is Google Glass, the head-mounted computer system that arrived with a huge splash in 2012 – and then belly flopped. Turns out, the possibility that someone could discreetly take photos or videos of you during a private moment – even in a public restroom – was too creepy. And the product was banned from venues that didn’t want any recording going on, including movie theaters, private clubs and casinos. Ramgir urges innovators to think of their ideas like “a piece of a puzzle that has to be just the right shape – on all sides – to fit into people’s lives. “If your idea is too expensive, makes the user feel uncomfortable or makes others uncomfortable, he says, “it may never succeed. Mayur Ramgir (www. mayurramgir.com) is an awardwinning author, speaker, innovator and entrepreneur. Educated at Georgia Tech, MIT, Oxford and the University of Sussex, he currently serves as president and CEO of Boston-based Zonopact Inc. Ramgir’s book, Unbarred Innovation: A Pathway to Greatest Discoveries, was published in 2016. The Sentinel does not endorse any products or services suggested by third-party sources.

After living as renters for the first seven years of their marriage, Geoff and Kristi decided it was time to purchase their first house. They decided to pass on making a purchase earlier in their lives for reasons ranging from unstable job security to high mortgage rates. Whether justified or not, Geoff and Kristi kept making excuses for not pulling the trigger on a new-home purchase. They had no idea of the opportunity they were missing to start building their personal wealth through home ownership. As time moved on and their

family grew, they knew they finally needed to make that move to build some equity and have something to show for the money they were dishing out just to keep a roof over their heads. “A lot of people have been misinformed, resulting in becoming content to live as renters, says Joe Puthur, President of Mortgage Coach. “Families have been missing out on opportunities because of lack of knowledge. With today’s mortgage options, people can achieve affordable home ownership wherever they want to live. Puthur offers first-time

home owners the following insight to help find the right mortgage: The best mortgage option is not always about rate. Many loans come with advantages such as working in the cost of planned renovations – like adding a bathroom or modernizing a kitchen – into your loan. When shopping for a loan, do not just look at the rate as the bottom line; find out what types of perks different loans offer. Your occupation might get you a better mortgage. Dear Computer Lady, Hello. I've used Quicken for about 12 years, but have become disenchanted with it. Can you recommend a free program similar to Quicken? I would like to be able to enter individual entries manually for my accounts, then save, update and reconcile my bank accounts and my credit card statements offline. It came in from a software provider that I've used for sometime without problems. While it purportedly announces a new internet threat by a ransomeware program, termed "goldeneye/petya" that is supposedly " sweeping across Europe. " I'm a little concerned in that there are a few small signs of a poorly written message (typos?), poor phraseology?, etc. Would you kindly take a read and let your

readers know if you have your sources that either validate this, or dispel it as just scare tactic by some juveniles, or the like. Thank you in advance, Ralph in Bremerton, WA Dear Ralph, There is indeed a new ransomware threat named petya. I would guess that the reason for the webpage being poorly written is that the employee who wrote the page is not based in the US. However, rather than follow the steps listed in the article, I would simply make sure that I have installed critical Windows updates, make sure I am protected with a security program that will automatically protect me. In addition, you should always have a reliable and proven backup strategy. I am currently using and selling Emsisoft AntiMalware. Emsisoft Anti-Malware's behavior blocker will detect zero-day ransomware threats so your data stays safe. Elizabeth Dear Computer Lady, I was reading about transferring pictures on an IPhone to the iCloud and then to a desktop. My question is Can iCloud be trusted and is it safe? I ask this because my wife has pictures on her apple tablet which I would like to transfer to my computer for safe keeping and I was hoping not to use iCLOUD. Thanks for all you do! Mike Dear Mike, You can certainly transfer your photos without using iCloud, you can either email them from the tablet to the home computer, or you can connect your tablet to the computer using the USB charging cable and transfer using iTunes. To answer your question about iCloud, I did a little bit of research and found that it is as safe as most other cloud storage systems. iCloud secures your data by encrypting it when it's sent over the internet. That means that it can't

be intercepted as it is travelling to and from their servers. Once the files are on the iCloud server, they are also stored in an encrypted format. iCloud uses a minimum of 128-bit AES encryption (the same level of security employed by major financial institutions) and they never provide encryption keys to any third parties. This means that the security of your data stored on iCloud is up to you. Do you have a strong password, and do you use two-factor authentication. A strong password must be a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters along with some numbers and symbols. VA loans are available to veterans of the U.S. military, current service members or former military spouses who are not remarried. The advantages of a VA loan when compared to traditional loans include: No down-payment for qualified buyers, easier qualification process, better interest rates and no requirements to purchase Private Mortgage Insurance. A VA loan isn’t controlled by Veteran’s Affairs, only guaranteed by the VA, meaning those qualified for the loans have a number of options when it comes to lending institutions. Every veteran can and should own a home. Consider your home as the most important investment you’ll ever make. When you sign into your apple account on a new device, you will also have to enter a six digit number that is sent to your phone (or other device you set up). still owe. As time goes on, your equity goes up and you can leverage the value to provide college funding, access financial support for unexpected emergencies, or even to purchase an investment property. Your equity also provides retirement security. And as a long-term investment, homes generally appreciate in value, providing a profit when you decide to sell. A mortgage is not a typical loan, it is a financial instrument enabling wealth creation and access to affordable home ownership. Interest rates on a quality mortgage continue to be below 5% regardless of program. Considering this time in 1997 rates were often over 9%, this is one of the most favorable times in history to buy a home, an opportunity no one should miss. “It is not complicated to escape the rental trap, own the perfect home and start building equity toward a better future, Puthur says. “Homebuyers just need a trusted mortgage professional who can help them make an effective, informed and confident decision. After all, the perfect home is not only where they will make memories, it is a key contributor for growing their family’s wealth and financial security over time. Mortgage Coach President Joe Puthur has been a technology leader throughout the last 15 years. Brenda Jean Haley, 56 NORTH BERWICK – Brenda Jean Haley, 56, of North Berwick, died at her home Monday, June 26, 2017 due to chronic health issues. She was born October 22, 1960 in Biddeford, the daughter of Frank and Jean (Sevigny) Haley Jr. She grew up in Limerick, attending locals schools, and graduated from Massabesic High School in 1978. Brenda was employed by Sprague Electric for over 15 years at various positions including visual inspector. Brenda enjoyed going to the beach and swimming into the waves, hunting for sand dollars with her son, cooking and baking (she made the best homemade blueberry biscuits). She loved to shop, eat out, and enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and needlepoint. She was a giving person and always had a smile on her face. Brenda was truly a loving mother, sister, and friend to all. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Lorilie

Haley. She is survived by her son, Brandon Lagerholm of North Berwick, sister Roxanne Haley of Springvale, lifelong friend Ann Colby of Limerick, nieces Sheena McConologue of West Newfield and Shannon Payeur of Portland, nephew Derrick Plante, stepfather Rudy Sevigny of Shapleigh, and stepsister Stacie Sevigny of Sanford. Private services will be held at Pine Grove North Cemetery in Waterboro. Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick.

vice, starting in Portsmouth as a mail clerk and ending as postmaster of the Ogunquit Post Office when he retired in 2003. He enjoyed spending his summers working in the Ogunquit parking lots and welcoming tourists to town with his Maine accent and friendly demeanor. David married Carol Brooks on June 17, 1977. They recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a backyard BBQ party given by their children and attended by many of their friends and family. They also celebrated earlier this spring with a trip to London and Paris. David was an easygoing, fun-loving person with a fantastic sense of humor; his laugh has been described as infectious. He made those around him feel comfortable in his warm presence. David and Carol loved to travel, seek out adventures and never tired of being together. One favorite adventure was a helicopter ride at the Grand Canyon. Carol has some wonderful memories of David to carry with her. He enjoyed fishing, reading non-fiction books, the Red Sox and Patriots, music (especially the Beatles) and spending time with his two young grandsons and dog Max. David was predeceased by

his mother and father, and brother-in-law Donald Moore of Ogunquit. Surviving family includes his wife Carol; daughter Jenna and her husband Aaron Arsenault and their sons Cooper and Wilder of Dover, NH; son Justin and his wife Jana of Wells; sister Barbara Moore of Wells and her children Phyllis Moore of Saco, David and his wife Jennifer of Wells, Nancy and her husband Jeff Chase of York, Eric of Somersworth, and their children and grandchild. His in-laws include Carl and Christine Shesler of Madison, NJ; Dennis and Melodie Hardy of Wells; Marlene Brooks of Minot, ND; Paula Brooks of Wells, and their children and grandchildren. Visiting hours were held Friday, June 30 at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick where a funeral was held on Saturday, July 1. David was not big on flower bouquets. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to a charity he supported: Laudholm Trust, 342 Laudholm Farm Rd, Wells, ME 04090 or Wells/Ogunquit Music Boosters, 200 Sanford Road, Wells, ME 04090. Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com.

This year’s Manufacturer of the Year award goes to a Maine organization who has made significant

OGUNQUIT Ogunquit’s Van Ward Gallery recently marked twenty-five years of artistic excellence, as patrons, collectors, artists and friends gathered in the Ogunquit gallery to celebrate the occasion. Popular Sports For Seniors Age doesn’t have to stop older men and women from enjoying their favorite sports. In fact, remaining active can improve physical and mental health. If a doctor has confirmed that it is okay to participate in sports, these activities can help men and women 50 and older enjoy friendly competition and physical activity. Fishing Fishing is more than just a leisurely day at the lake. Casting and reeling in your catch provides a good workout for the arms, legs and core muscles of the body. If you fish on the water, rowing out to your lucky spot provides additional car-

diovascular exercise. Golf Golf is enjoyed by people of all ages. Requiring a combination of strategy and skill, golf also pays several physical dividends. Play at your own pace, taking your time walking from hole to hole so you can enjoy the sunshine and soak in the beauty of the course. Swimming A few laps around a pool works your whole body. Swimming is attractive to seniors because it works the muscles and provides a cardiovascular jolt without putting any strain on the joints. Cycling

YORK In one week there was much change in the team positions of the York Women's Golf League. As of Monday evening's play on June 26, Sandy Petrovich's Team 5 advanced to first place with a cumulative score of 52 points and Team 3, formerly in 1st place, moved to

6th place. The second place position is held by Linda Jellison's Team 4 with 49 1/2 points, followed by 3rd place Team 6 led by Debbie Erikson. Team 1, captained by Peggy Todd, is in 4th place followed by Liz Nolan's Team 2 in 5th place. League play will resume on Monday, July 10 after a week off.

Many seniors are avid cyclists. You can ride a bicycle in competition or for pleasure. You can even vary your route depending on how physically intense you want the ride to be. Seniors need not abandon their love of sport just because Father Time is catching up with them. Many sports can be

enjoyed by athletes of all ages. The Sentinel does not endorse any products or services suggested by third-party sources.

On December 20, 2016, the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Wells, Maine (the “Townâ€?) determined that the mobile home that you own or in which you may have an interest, located at 1765 Sanford Road and shown on Tax Map 54, Lot 8 (the “Propertyâ€?), was abandoned within the meaning of 30-A M.R.S.A. § 3106-A(4). Having determined the Property to be abandoned, pursuant to the powers granted to it by 30-A M.R.S.A. § 3106-A, the Town of Wells issued you a Notice to Correct dated December 21, 2016 (the “Notice to Correctâ€?), requiring that certain actions be taken including: (a) clean-up and removal all household items, trash, and debris both inside and outside the structure; (b) removal of an abandoned camper and its contents; (c) removal of a tree that had fallen onto the mobile home; and (4) demolition, removal, and disposal of the mobile home. If you do not pay the Town for its costs incurred, as itemized above within 30 days after demand, then a special tax will be assessed against the Property, which tax will be collected via the statutory tax lien foreclosure process and the Town may become the owner of your property. has been awarded to nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Maine. “With more than 4,000 nonprofits in Maine, it’s important to us to recognize the impact of local leaders who dedicate themselves to making the nonprofit community stronger and healthier,” said Greg Dufour, President and Chief Executive Officer of Camden National Bank. “Every year, it’s inspirational to hear the stories and successes of this devoted group.” Camden National Bank invites any Maine-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization to nominate a current board member who has demonstrated passion, innovation and ingenuity in board governance that has led to the organization’s growth, successful transition or financial stability.
