Party Raises $30,000 for Marginal Way OGUNQUIT A Garden Party, held on August 17, at the home of Board Members John and Cynthia Phinney, generated nearly $30,000 in charitable contributions for the Marginal Way Preservation Fund (MWPF), according to President of the Board Paul Breen. “A Wine Toss challenge and silent auction proved to be very popular, generating thousands of dollars for the preservation of the Marginal Way,” he added. Andy Happel and Matt Lister of Cuzin Richard Entertainment played music while guests walked the large gardens designed by landscape architect
Frederick Law Olmsted. “The caterer, Andrea Lagzdins, served delicious gourmet food all after-noon,” Breen said. Guests watched local artist Mary Byrom paint the rocky coast area of Ogunquit known as “Dog’s Head Rock.” Others purchased art on display from Cuckle-Button Farm Gallery and Van Ward Gallery, both of Ogunquit. “More than 100 guests are still talking about the great time they had at this fundraiser,” Breen added. “We thank donors, volunteers, Event Committee and Board members, Barbara O’Leary and Rob Walker, and the Anchorage by the Sea, a sponsor.
