Brown Introduces A New Kind of “Wild Symphony” SEACOAST Author Dan Brown has released his first picture book this September – and it is no ordinary children’s book! The story is accompanied by an original classical music album composed by Brown. “Wild Symphony” is a unique experience in which Maestro Mouse invites a variety of animal friends to join his orchestra. Simple wisdom for navigating life is imparted through the illustration and poetry, while the music encourages appreciation of

Texas will complete scheduled maintenance work and several system upgrades. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is the Navy’s center of excellence for attack submarine overhaul, repair, and modernization. Texas is the fourth Navy ship, and first submarine, to be named after the Lone Star State. Two battleships and a cruiser were previously named USS Texas, and three active Los Angeles-class submarines, USS Dallas (SSN 700), USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN 705) and USS Houston (SSN 713) have been named for cities in Texas. Texas is the second Virginia-class nuclear-powered submarine and is a flexibl multi-mission platform designed to carry out the seven core competencies of the submarine force; antisubmarine warfare; anti-surface warfare; delivery of special operations forces; strike warfare; irregular warfare; intelligence; surveillance and reconnaissance; and mine warfare. “Fighting the Flu” Webinar September 30
was commissioned Sept. 9, 2006 and is homeported at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Texas returned from its latest deployment February 24, where it completed a full spectrum of operations, including theater anti-submarine and antisurface warfare, in support of the high-priority tasking in the IndoPacific and U.S. Central Command areas of operation. Texas’ Commanding Officer is Kenneth Cooke. He assumed command February 28. Texas’ host community is Kittery.
