Where The Wild Things Are Project: Books and Me
"What's books or should I ask what's books mean to you?" This is the first question that teacher want us to think before we create our books. As my personal, books are an entrance to another world, doors to imagination world. When I was reading, I got a chance to experience different life.
Not like traditional books, “Where the Wild things are” are not binding into a book but showing different scene on each page. There’re no words upon it. If you want to take a peep of the Neverland, you have to use your imagination.

Life from words
When I was reading, words got its own life and try to break the bound with paper. Words are not the storyteller but the story itself. / Paper pulp , Old books

Le cittĂ invisibili Project: Beauty in daily life
This book was inspired by <Invisible Cities> by Italo Calvino. The book explores imagination and the imaginable through the descriptions of cities by an explorer, Marco Polo. The majority of the book consists of brief prose poems describing 55 cities, apparently narrated by Polo.
The book, because of its approach to the imaginative potentialities of cities, has been used by architects and artists to visualize how cities can be,[1]their secret folds, where the human imagination is not necessarily limited by the laws of physics or the limitations of modern urban theory. It offers an alternative approach to thinking about cities, how they are formed and how they function.

Zobeide New men arrived from other lands, having had a dream like theirs, and in the city of Zobeide, they recognized something from the streets of the dream, and they changed the positions of arcades and stairways to resemble more closely the path of the pursued woman and so, at the spot where she had vanished, there would remain no avenue of escape.

Carrying a good story, a book jump into the lake became paper pulp. Fishing in the lake, I tried to save the story but only got six words. “WEIHAN” what!! It’s my name.

Come in
Project: Textile installation
To explore the connection between my life and art making, I attempted to find out influences that have affected my artworks and me. Since childhood, I have discovered some differences between me and other children. Said differences scared me, so I hid myself away from others. One can see traces of self-repression present in my artworks made during my early graduate school years. As I grew up and met many different people, I experienced the diversity of human kind and formed the belief that people should always be honest to themselves. The graduation work <Come in> is all about honesty.

I used an abstract closet as my installation to symbolize the situation of homosexuals. By inviting people into my closet, I hope for them to reject the society’s
misconceptions
of
homosexuals and to understand that homosexuals are just as normal as everyone else. I hope
also to encourage people to face and embrace their uniqueness, as well as appreciate others for the way they are.

I used old clothes that belonged to my family and me as materials. As represented by the process of weaving, I clarified how I feel about my family and where I stand in this relationship.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. “I don't much care where—” said Alice. “Then it doesn't matter which way you go,” said the Cat. “- so long as I get SOMEWHERE,” Alice added as an explanation. “Oh, you're sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”
