Biography Hello, I am WEI-LI, LO. About where I am from I am from Taipei, Taiwan. Taipei is like many other Asia cities, crowded, competitive, trying so hard to be a great one, just like a caterpillar trying to be a beautiful butterfly. My parents are from the countryside of Taiwan, and that makes great impact on me. Despite growing up in an urban landscape, my countryside background puts me in a well-rounded perspective and provides me the context to observe and value cultures from different regions or people. In my early Education, it was not difficult to find my passion in creation. I always found myself joyful when I am painting or making models. Moreover, that kind of delight drove me to the path of design.

What I think about design When I first time got in touch with design in college. I figured I was designing objects, always thinking about whatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s the best shape for a product. However, the more I know about design, the more I realize that the point is not the process, it is all about people. If you want to design a good product, then you should get to know more about people. Whatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s your target like? What do they need? I found this very fascinating though it is not what I expect in the first place. During my internship period, I also discovered that design could be more powerful if you know how to apply to user experience, data analysis. Although I have only been working in the design business for a short time, I eager to learn more possibility about design. I expect myself to dedicate my effort to design industry in Taiwan.

My experience in design During my college, I obtained many valuable experiences. In Shih Chien, there are multiple projects in every semester, and each project is inclusive of concept development, proposal, model making, and presentation which gave me many opportunities to learn about how to design a product from nothing to a high level of completion model. At every end of a semester, we would hold an exhibition to show what our works. The exhibition was also a great chance to sharpen my skills of time managing, event planning, and public relation.

Reco is a brand new type of Eco-friendly jet ski. It named after the capital of four words. They are riding, Eco-friendly,craft, and ocean. They also represent the spirit of Reco. Compared with jet skis nowadays, Reco is much more Eco-friendly and comfortable. It is designed for tourist and island manager. Reco takes advantage of the tech of air engine to achieve the goal of zero pollution. Reco correctly matches the image of the future travel business. our design

Motivation As the popularity of traveling arises, beautiful sites in the world draw thousands of tourist to visit every year. For example, islands, beaches, and lakes. There are a lot of beautiful landscapes, natural ecosystems and activities on the water. However, the number of hotels and resorts start to grow in those areas. The environment is not the only thing being challenged, but also the planning of leisure activities.

1. Jet skis nowadays using Diesel engine, they've already cause oil and air pollution. 2.diesel engine makes much more noise than any other kinds of the engine. And noise pollution is also hurting sea animals. 3.the massive handlebars increased the difficulty of riding a jet ski. 4. The barrel shape and the small space make it difficult to get on and off a jet ski. 5. Related industries hope to have a comprehensive system to manage all the water mobile through a complete renting procedure.

Environment In most tropical/subtropical islands like Taiwan, they are often surrounded by many other small islands and ocean. Therefore, water sports must be very popular in these areas. When the distance between islands is so short that people use shuttle boat or personal small fishing boat to communicate very frequent. In this circumstance, people are looking forward to a better transportation.

2. Tourist

Island manager is an emerging occupation. They are responsible for managing islands and affiliated sea. They are asked to maintain the ecosystem of the island and make sure there will be no illegal intruders. They need to patrol the island every day. For the patrol, they need a greener transportation to do their job.

Tourist is the biggest group of people who using jet skis the most. No matter there is a scenic beach or a ecological park. Jet ski is always seen as a common transportation. However , tourist also become a big problem of the environment.

Energy solution

â&#x20AC;&#x153;Pneumatic engine could achieve genuinely non-pollution .â&#x20AC;? .

A pneumatic motor (Air motor) or compressed air engine is a type of motor which does mechanical work by expanding compressed air. Pneumatic motors generally convert the compressed air energy to mechanical work through either linear or rotary motion. Linear motion can come from either a diaphragm or piston actuator, while rotary motion is supplied by either a vane type air motor, piston air motor, air turbine or gear type motor.

Cylinders The biggest difference between standard jet ski and RECO is that Reco using air as fuel. Air is compressed into carbon fiber cylinders which could take 350 bars pressure and 850 degrees. A small car could go 300 km quickly by only one cylinder. There's another advantage of air engine is that it takes much quicker than an electric engine to refill the tank. It takes 1-3mins to refill the cylinder from empty to full. Therefore we believe air engine will be the perfect choice for a new generation jet ski.

The average perimeter of an island is not longer than 10 km. We set the number 20 km to be the default data so that the tourist can ride around the island at least two laps.

One 175 liter cylinder could provide an entire 220 km trip. Thus, we conclude that we only need 16 liters for a two laps tour. Because of the counterweight, we put the 60cm cylinder into two carcasses to increase the buoyancy.

Structure

Throughout our sketches, we tried to explore every possibility to find out the best shape and the structure. In the long run, we used the structure of catamaran combined with the form of scooters.

Comfort and stability have always been the design focus for RECO.Since recreational attractions are mostly visited by couples or groups, it is important that we ensure ample space and comfort for passenger of one or more. We considered the structure of a catamaran for stability and the frame of a motorcycle for ease of adjusting sitting postures.

After some research about the riding posture, we hope comfort to be an important part of the new jet ski. We simulated many postures by different kinds of motorcycles. We picked the easiest way to design the seat. The scale of the wave can also make some impact on the stability of riding. That is the reason we use the structure of cataraman. The wider the structure, the more stable it get. Compared to the cylinder shaped jet ski nowadays, Reco creates a much more safe riding experience.

Through the experiments, we used the result to verify our assumption. In the test, we created two models. One with wide structure and the other one with narrow structure. Then we made a sealed aquarium with our models in it. After few times of shaking tests, we can tell the wide structure one had better performance by the swaying levels of the sticks on the model. First, tourists would go to the dock to rent a RECO. While the air is running low on the sea, the system will show the warning sign and suggest the route to the nearest dock. This also means you don't have to return your RECo at the dock where you rent it in the first place.

While you are traveling on the sea, you should take good care of your personal assets. We design a perfect capacity of storage space beside the handlebars. It fits all your phone, wallet, and sunglasses.

Reco also provides two solid stainless hooks in the tip of carcasses. It is easier to park your Reco whenever you find a suitable dock.

Re-Design The electric guitar is known for its history and beautiful sound. For a long time, people are pursuing better sound and new possibilities in electric guitar. With the modern technology, what can we do to combine the guitar with the new tech? Teletronic aims for beginning learners, using the touch panel to replace the traditional wooden fingerboard. The touch panel is also a screen, showing guitar tab or scale to teach songs or music theory. Teletronic is not only an instrument but also a teacher.

Motivation The touch screen tech is becoming universal. There are more and more products providing touch panel as a core function. The guitar is one of the instruments that works in close collaboration with fingers, so it is easy to connect the touchscreen tech with guitars. With the combination, the electric guitar is capable of doing many things that it used to can not.

Concept Teletronic is an electric guitar that integrates song playing and tab teaching. Normally, when beginning learners practicing a scale, they will have to understand the sheet music on paper/websites. Then translate it to the spot on the fingerboard. Teletronic simplifies this troubling process, even songs and tab could be transferred into teletronic and be played.

Research Although most electric guitars in the market mainly stay in traditional shape or make some changes in the material at best, there are still some guitar companies willing to try something new. Some will attempt to modify the playing gesture, make special effects, or sync with smartphones. These new tech guitars always have their design features on the picking hand, but everything stays the same on the fretting hand. Nevertheless, teletronic keeps the way of picking and make big progress on the fretting board.

The fretting board is built as the touch panel, and there is led light under every fret. When playing the right note at the right time, the light goes off. Teletronic uses this system to instruct beginners how to play scale and tabs.

In the aspect of modeling, I trimmed as much as I can to reduce the weight. At the same time, I made use of the curve of teletronic to add new features in the body. For example, remove a part of the body to make a carbon handlebar and a gadget that could be storage straps.

Guitar Pro is a software that digitalizes guitar tabs into files. Teletronic is capable of receiving files from USB and displaying them on the fretting board.

For a tyro who is trying to learn a song, the easiest way is to play along with it. The â&#x20AC;&#x153;songsâ&#x20AC;? function could play mp3 files through the same amplifier as the guitars sound.

Scale feature is for learners who want to practice scale in the different tonality. Guitarists need to memorize the pattern on the board to refine their skill.

Floating Beer Draf t for Pool Par ty

Experience In many outdoor activities or parties, it is common to have a problem that beer or drinks is not cold enough. In fact, the best drinkable temperature is around 6-8℃ in summer, and 10-12℃ in winter Celsius degrees. In this condition, the beer bubble tastes the best, stay longest and delicate. In response to all kinds events coming out lately, we need better types of equipment for activities.

Inspiration It is usual to see many kinds of draft beer on the bar, and each draft dispenser represents a class of beer. However, the average beer dispenser installed in bars is usually in mass size and has to be placed in a regular place. Until the “bartender” from Heineken came out. A small bulk machine with the little volume of beer keg make people wondering is there a product that could fit the outdoor environment?

Concept For a long time, pool party has always been in vogue, and it brought up many relevant products. HoverDraft is not only a beer dispenser but a real help to heat up the party. When on the water, it is like a table floating around the pool. HoverDraft takes the concept of hovercraft, the immense volume of air cushion provides excellent buoyancy and support.

Scenario The using scenario is set at any swimming pool or the seaside. Use any five liters beer keg and install them under the HoverDraft, then lift it to the top of the water. Eventually, put cups on the sensor of the desktop, once the HoverDraft sense the weight of cup, the drink shall outflow automatically.

The monitor on the up of HoverDraft shows the current temperature in the keg and the remaining volume. So the user could know when to replace the next keg.

2. The icon of the sensor, it indicates the place where to put beer cups. The amount every time pouring can set as 10 or 16 oz.

3. Handlebar gives a user a better user experience. On the water surface, it is inevitable making some wave that could disturb the stability of HoverDraft. A handlebar design let user grab the HoverDraft steady with one hand and use the other hand to get a fresh drink.

MEDISPRAY Future Design

In future, life will become more convenient in every way, including medical science. Base on the modern fiber spraying technology and medical progress, medispray has a better performance on handling trauma wound. Medispray can be needed in every family even everyone. In some occasions, like traveling outside or getting cut accidentally at home, medispray giving the most efficient way to treat a wound. There's no need to find some unguents that barely use. One spray, and you can dress any wound.

â&#x20AC;&#x153;Not just for clothes, the technology has household, industrial, personal and health care applications.â&#x20AC;?

Motivation With the progression of fiber spraying technique, it starts to spread out to many fields. Liquefying solid fiber into a spray can is already a big step for science, it is not hard to imagine how many possibilities it could bring up. Above all these opportunities, medical aspect sounds most promising. If the process of dressing the wound and covering the wound with bandage could be easier, it would be a big help for people all around.

There are various sorts and phases of wounds, and each condition requires different treatment. However, it is hard for normal people to study all of the detail and treatment, Medispray is perfect this situation. Normally people used to use saline or povidone-iodine solution forwound irrigation at first, then cover the wound with band-aid or gauze. Medispray simplifies the process. The latest study shows that keeping wounds moist and sealed would give artery and cells a better condition to recover. Thus, the tightness of fiber spraying technique providing is suitable for wound caring.

With a certain direction and concept development, I began to sketch the shape of a prototype. Started from the idea of refilling dressing with a tube to the final design of replenishing can.

Process The scenario begins with the discovery of the wound, and Choosing which kind of dressing can depend on the injury. For example, there is a difference between the dressing of a cut wound and a burn wound. Pick the right dressing can and Plug into Medispray. Spray the dressing on the wound and wait till the wound healed, the dressing will fell off with the scab. For some user concerning beauty, after spraying the dressing. There are some other cans with a color label on them. Choose the color that matches your skin, and then there will not leave a single trace of wounds.

CAPSULV Occupation Design

Pharmacist, an occupation who counts thousands of capsules a day. Even though there are already existing utensils used to make inventory of capsules, the current tools are not complete enough. I tried to make breakthrough from mechanism aspect and the look of tool. Currently existing tools cause some inconvenience for pharmacist. For example, capsule are slipperily and felling off the plate easily. The idea is to change how capsules' movement, making use of their shape to create a new design.

About Pharmacy In Taiwan, the traditional pharmacy has developed over half of a century. There are almost 2 - 3 pharmacy in every community. Pharmacists in Taiwan is not only able to give medicine by the prescription, but also qualified to dispense pills to consumers. Except for the medication and prescription service, the pharmacy also sells health care products, baby, cosmetics and some daily using equipment. Due to the variety of merchants, the pharmacy satisfies the need of One-Shop Shopping.

Taiwanese pharmacists have heavy work and long working hours. They also need to be focused when distributing capsules, to avoid an unnecessary accident for the patient overdosing.

Pharmacist Usually, pharmacists use medicine plate, rotary packaging machine, and various simple medical equipment.

In the course of observing pharmacistsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; work, it is easy to see that they spend much time counting capsules. This job requires high concentration. Moreover, most pharmacies in Taiwan are set up in a relatively small space. There is no much room for a big package machine. Therefore, the efficient way of counting capsules is certainly needed.

About Capsule Taiwanese pharmacist universally use simple design medicine plate,stainless steel made and troughs on the side. However, some problems are found in this kind of shape. Most medicine plates are made of stainless steel and plastic. Although it is easy to clean up, the material also causes capsules rolling because of the glossy surface. Flat design leads to a result that pouring pills back to bottles become a must after packaging capsules, plus the division on the plate is not clear enough to separate extra pills.

Inspiration Take the structure in the colored pencil box as inspiration since pencil and capsule are both cylindrical shape. The best way to stop them from rolling is to create troughs. The size and shape of trough should also be well considerate. Though there are different size of capsules, the average size can still be calculated because there is standard for capsuleâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s length. A better solution should be inclusive of troughs with appropriate size and adequate area division to achieve the best efficiency.

Function After pouring pills into capsulv, capsules will fell right into the troughs automatically. Once capsules in the trough, they will not be rolling around anymore. The number of capsules will be clear with the help of tool and the graduation on the side.

The design of two inclined planes is the exclusive tool of capsulv. With the tool, it is easy to assemble all unused capsules to the notch.

Use the tool to implode those capsules into pill bag, and then hold capsulv up pouring extra pills back to bottle.

Roadside Assistance Cross Branding This project's goal is to design an interface that base on a core-value of a brand. Roadside assistance is designed for a service that BMW has been offering these years. I take BMW's idrive as a reference to create a brand new interface, helping customers around the world whenever they run into car breakdown. Begin with informing service center to the arrangement of an alternative transportation plan. Roadside assistance carries out the spirit of BMW - Joy. Through interface design, the breakdown doesn't have to be frustrating.

BMW Branding Brand Image Started from the bottom of 2009, BMW German headquarter took the lead in the new brand image - " Joy is BMW." Elevate the previous image "Sheer driving pleasure" to another level. BMW began to emphasize the emotional connection with customers. There are many levels of joy, including the joy of driving, share, and responsibility. In my opinion, being at ease is also an important part of driving.

Roadside Assistance Service Although the roadside assistance service of BMW is already existing, it is only available by phone. It still has not integrated to idrive system (BMW exclusive car interface). Start from the value of BMW brand. Maybe this service could do more. For example, maintenance staff gets to the breakdown place once the roadside assistance service is triggered. There are too many details can be considered in a breakdown incident, and those details are the value of BMW brand.

Design Concept

When a breakdown happens, the service will give some solutions.

The design concept starts from the core value of BMW, turn all the bad impression of a breakdown into good. A breakdown always makes people feel annoying, troubling and worried. Normally there are two things are going to happen after a breakdown. First, the breakdown is so bad that only tow truck can help. Second, the demands of transportation replacement come up when the breakdown can not be fixed immediately. The worst of all, drivers might need hotels and other stores when the time is not right. If the problem is easy, service center will assign repair staff immediately.

If the breakdown happens in a remote area,the system will show lodging info.

The follow-up of transportation info will also be provided.

Target User The user group is the ones who drive BMW and also can afford the service of BMW. They are usually the middle or high class, and white collar people. For them, time and safety are more precious than anything else. They pursue a perfect service that helps them take care of everything and waste no time.

About BMW iDrive

To continue the visual design of BMW original navigation system - IDrive, I put much effort into the research of their design to send a consistent message. IDrive is a multiple function car system with particular remote controller. Each layer or page is presented from left to right. Thus way how to show information is the key to this design.

Roadside assistance menu can contact related companies, and matters need attention since there are some conscienceless tow truck companies in Taiwan. Take Eat Easy Future Design In the future, almost any flat surface could be a touch panel., and this trend including the menu of any restaurant. Take eat easy is a system that combines smartphone application with the touch panel technology. Due to the recent heated issue of food security, people start to care about the food source of what they eat. Nowadays, we all have some food we cannot eat or don't like to eat. Through the application, set your custom setting and sync the data with the restaurant menu. The food you cannot eat will be filtered. The source of every ingredient can also be traced. This system makes eating out more healthy and safe.

Design Concept Take Eat Easy is a system includes smartphone application and electronic menu in restaurants. First, set the food habit. When in a restaurant, sync your data with the menu to show cuisine that suits you. For customers, they can find suitable food a lot faster. For restaurants, they can get the data of everyone customersâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; food preference very easily to improve their menu.

There are three categories in food preference settings. They are the ingredient, cooking method, and season. There are much more details in each category to adjust. For those who has the allergic problem or whose body is in unhealthy condition for some specific fo-od, this system would do them a favor on choosing what to eat. For example, people who have heart disease are not recommended to have spinach or other iron content food in their diet. Therefore, they can have this setting in the app, and filter all iron content food in every restaurant menu.

Table system Take Eat Easy connects the dining table and menu, and it saves both the paper and human resource. This system is going to create a big database to make the application more completed. Customer will have a better eating environment; restaurants could get large data about peoplesâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; preference at the same time.

Scenario The method of application starts with using the application on the phone to search all restaurants that apply to Take Eat Easy. Turn on the menu on the dining table and then put smartphones on the top of sync point. The system will conduct the filtering procedure immediately. When ordering meals, share any information with desk mates is also available. Every order detail and check amount info will also be transparent.

About Drii Through presentation of their masterpiece in countries such as Japan, France and Italy, Drii's work has been influenced by the cultural interchange between the East and the West. Drii design is working in their speciality field of lighting, as well as product, furniture, interior design, and based on craft material. From their design studio in Taiwan, Drii collaborates with some of the foremost Taiwanese and international craftsman, and presents the most gorgeous design.

Drii Design is specialized in houseware design and craft production, e.g. “Bamboo Explosion” (lighting), “The Balacne” (bamboo briefcase), “Bendboo” (desk lamp), etc. The brand name of Drii Design is inspired by the image of “water”, a radical of Chinese characters, symbolizing the injection of endless energy and inspiration into our creations as of water flowing continuously and eternally.

Services: (1) Customized Design: Our senior designers are responsible for providing expertise in designing products, artifacts, furniture, interior and packaging. (2) Drii Design Products: To promote oriental craft, we utilize bamboo, jade, glass and other materials to design unique products.

Projects During the period in the Drii design, I participated many projects. Including client projects and our own product development. The design philosophy of Drii design is keeping the precious Taiwanese traditional handcraft. We tried our best to cooperate with some conventional industries, make good use of their skill. With our design ideas, we produce products with much more modern looking but a good old soul in it.

In the process of the internship, I have learned how to negotiate with other companies and clients. Communication skill is almost equally important as design skill when it comes to a design studio like Drii. In a project, it is not that easy to satisfy the clients, simplify the making process, and stay profitable. This is a skill that I can not learn in school. In those projects, I was responsible for concept sketch, 3D modeling, and design research.

山景 Scene Hanger Sun Rising, mountain view, ripple, and birds combined in a Scene hanger, the steel bended in a mountain shape; and the concentric laminated bamboo is the water ripple; the combination of the mirror and the wall series just like the sunrise and mountain scene. This set of work not only can organize the clothes, jewelry, footwear but also play a “scene” in a space.

墨玉片燈 Black Jade As bamboo craft has been explored in our design process for quite sometime, Drii now introduce the next possible material, which is called the "Black jade" As Confucius once said: "A gentleman compares virtue to jade, as it is gentle and beneficent, which shows that a gentleman is the model for appreciating human character." Every piece of jade has its own unique texture like no other. Our Design series includes lighting, stationary and jewelry. Furthermore, we combine a mysterious blend of black jade and other industrial materials, revolutionizing our culture of Chinese Jade.

Tea Party Tea party is not only performance but a way to annotate the tea ceremony art. The design team created a modern aesthetic of tea ceremony, a new era of tea culture.Transboundary, is the biggest characteristic of this show. There are many fields of artists put in the tea party. They gave a different kind of perspective and thoughts about the show. Tea party 2 2015 is inclusive of bartending art, visual design, product design, music, fashion and interior design. It was a challenging integrate project. Finally, we successfully push this Asian culture ceremony to another level.In this project, Drii design was invited to design a complete sealed room with no light in it for the projector animation. This room must be easy to assemble and install since this show would be on tour in several countries. To meet up the demand of touring and the minimalist style design. We designed a module structure that could be easily assembled into a 6 x 6 (meters) room covering with black canvas.

About FlexibleLove FlexibleLove is a unique piece of furniture with strong support made from a paper honeycomb. The concept was born when designer, Chi-Shen Chiu discovered a local manufacturer making honeycomb paper pallets in place of the wooden ones. The geometrical structure of a honeycomb is Natureâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s own intelligent design. Its strength-to-weight ratio is especially valued in the aerospace and automobile industries where raw materials must be light whilst providing maximum support. Thinking about its amazing properties to hold up heavy cargo, Chi-Shen saw a logical connection with furniture. At FlexibleLove, the most important is the community, we see ourselves more than just home furniture but the interaction and communication between people. Fascinated by the beauty, flexibility, and incredible durability of paper honeycomb structure, in 2005, we have taken the initiative to use it to make furniture. This strong curiosity led us to the creation of FlexibleLove chair with 100% recyclable wood fibre material. Seating friends, families, lovers, and teammates all over the world, FlexibleLove has been invited to Milan Design Week, Paris Fashion week, Designerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Days Paris, and collected by MoMA New York and MAK museum in Austria.

About business, I am responsible for the logistics. I ensure our chairs sent to worldwide in time. This job widen my vision. In the past, I had been doing design work. Therefore this is my first attempt to use ERP system. Especially when it comes to our target market which is in Europe and North America, there are many rules of a tariff, so we have to consider how much profit we could make when we ship our chairs to other countries.

Marketing is the work I was involved the most when I am in FL. From the menial work like collecting email to make contact list to event planning. FlexibleLove is a very active brand, and we love to interact with people. I spent much time to understand our target audience, to realize that every move must apply to the image of a brand. During the internship period, I have participated the video and photo shooting, the election project, and holiday event. Through these projects, I found marketing is more challenging than I thought. I have learned that you can convey so many things in one photo or a 10 seconds video, you can have a countless version of one post on social media. With the experience of marketing work in FL, I can know the pros and cons of that startup e-commerce.

Design In the part of design, I do not only participate in graphic design of every event project and website, but also responsible for the product development. FL is famous for its honeycomb structure, and we try to design furniture by this structure. While we are manufacturing beautiful chairs, we also looking up to any new material. With my 3D modeling skill, I build the honeycomb structure with 3D model software, then print them with the 3D printing machine. This project is still in process, but the result is very positive. I believe it will not take long to produce our new product.

E - Commerce For E-commerce like FlexibleLove, the website is as important as the shop front to a store. Under this circumstance, we take the design of the site very seriously. We examine our website constantly with the every angle to make sure our site is userfriendly. Most of the time, I am learning how to managing an E-commerce, for example, how to elevate the page views or how to gain our media exposure. Those are the experience I have never had before. During the internship, I also learned how to design a web page layout. No matter it is a page, a picture or a short video, the most important thing is to convey the message right. Every photograph of a product is a big deal because every shot is related to our brand image. Some might say it is easier to run an E-commerce than a physical store. However, after this internship, I realized it is not what it looks like on the surface. The cyber world is much harder to survive if you want to be competitive.

Election Campaign FlexibleLove is an active brand, and we love to interact with our target audience. One week before 2016 American president election, we held a project to get on the train of the election campaign. We rename our most two popular products to arouse the curiosity of customers. Although in the long run, we did not get enough exposure for this event, we still had much fun on this project. I have noticed that being an e-commerce, you have to be very sensitive about what is going on around the world. Every incident could be a chance to market your brand.

Holiday Event Though we are a brand from Taiwan, our target market is based in North America and Europe, which means we need to build up the brand trust for them. Therefore, our strategy is to make FlexibleLove like a brand in the Western world. Our website is designed in English, and we make U.S dollar as the priority currency. In this case, the western holidays are absolutely essential to us. I came up with an idea which is to send out exclusive gifts to our V.I.P customers for holidays. I use our great paper honeycomb structure as the packaging material and high-class Golden Buckwheat Tea inside as the gift.

ABLB Music Festival WHAT IS ABLB? ABLB is named by four Chinese characters; they are 岸(an) 邊(bian) 露(lu) 伴(ban) which means camping by the shore with a companion. This inspiration came from a name of a virtual character in a very popular manga. However, the interesting part is that the meaning will be totally different if you see it in Japanese. My brother and I thought this fascinating, so we decide to make it become a real camping event. We do not have sufficient budget, so I have to do many things on my own, including visual design. I was responsible for the logo, poster, graphic design. The design of logo came from the image of a tent. I tried to present the wild side of camping. Therefore I choose the calligraphic brush to outline the tent to present the tribal atmosphere. Outdoor activities in Taiwan is rising, but there are not many options for outdoor music festival. I connect the camping, music, and canoeing into a special festival.

2016 ABLB MUSIC FESTIVAL < ABLB > /Poster Design

T-Shirt Design Indigo-dye, one of the most important Taiwanese handcraft asset. ABLB festival just happened to be held in the county which is developing traditional handcraft art - Nantou County. I was honored to have the opportunity collaborate with the indigo-dye department of National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. With their facility, I could make my design come true. The concept of ABLB t-shirt is base on the location of the festival - Sun Moon Lake, which is also the biggest lake in Taiwan. I use nine phase of the moon to present the texture of indigo dye. The charming part of handcraft is that you can not duplicate 100% for every work which explains the phase of moon precisely.
