"From a very early age, my mother taught me to love botanicals. Some of my best childhood memories consist of “helping” her work in planting beds and making pressed flower art. Through her, I learned a true appreciation for nature. To this day, spending time in a garden makes me happy—especially as a photographer.
For the past eleven years, I’ve photographed graffiti around the world. It’s been my passion to celebrate it in unusual ways. This series is no exception.
While traveling to shoot street art has been impossible during the pandemic, spending hours photographing in botanical gardens and green spaces has not. The quiet beauty of nature has been a refuge during this unusual time where we are distanced from so many of the things and people we love yet immersed in one of the most politically negative times in our history.
