The site is near to the pingjiang road which is preserved to show the history of old Suzhou. The pleasant scale of the old street prevents people from the disruption of cars and preserves the place for informal and formal activities of local residents.
To increase the demand of residential housing and rapid tourism development his project provides homes and buisness space for different groups of people based on the old urban morphology.

The site is located in old Shikumen area which is built almost 100 years ago. There are two main aspects addressed in the site analysis. Firstly, many historical Shikumen houses around with few modern buildings. However, the old houses and narrow street can not meet modern life demand because there are no toilets in the house and no necessary facilities in the communities. At the same time, the city is kept expending and developing with the help of migrants. Migrants kept flowing into Shanghai during the last century and many of them gradually became Shanghai local residents after a long time. The relationship between these two aspects become the intriguing question in the design process.

Interior of the Warehouse
The site is locate in the cross of Tongjing North Road and Ganjiang West Road and the shape of the site is a 'T' .There is an old warehouse which built in the 1980s and a parking lot on the site. There are two main thinkings in the design of this office building. The first idea is to make use of the industrious space and create an open and floating working expreience for the staff in the company. Within the enclosure of the outskirt, the service boxes are inserted. The second idea is to recall the spirit of the place, the old warehouse keeps the memory of the industry in the 1980s, therefore the surface and the sturcture are kept. What is more, the new structure is an creative interpreatation of the patch roof. An new structure of 'Y' column is designed to introduce the sunlight.
