Weir BDK hosts sales conference Declares first ever national sales award

Weir BDK sales team met at Hubli for the annual sales conference on the 3rd and 4th of February, along with key departments such as Exports, Engineering, and Plant Operations. The theme for this years’ conference was ‘Aspire to triumph’ - apt with the company’s vision set to become the top three player in the market. The teams reviewed the achievements and learning of the previous year and developed an action plan for 2014. Randeep Mahajan, President Weir BDK reiterated his message of staying extremely focused towards the customers and pushing the boundaries further in the present economic slowdown to ensure a profitable business for all the stakeholders in the company. He pointed out that with the several new product introductions lined up and a much improved business operations at Weir BDK, the company had a strong chance of making an impact on the market. The teams spent two full days at the meet, and got an opportunity to discuss the company’s chosen vision, its perspective,

changes that have taken place in operations, supply chain and other related areas of business.

Charandeep Singh, Plant head Weir BDK updated the team on the Operations, developments, capacity & road map to OTD. Narayan Ghatikar, Head Engineering discussed the progress in new product development, which are an integral part of the company’s growth strategy growing forward.. Updates on transfer products from John Britto was followed by a presentation on SCM by Vijay Kumar Saproo who heads the department. To further drive customer focused processes in the company, Srinivasprasad YG, Head QA conducted a session on Quality assurance and customer complaint handling process. Product training were also conducted which included; Training on SRV - Design, approvals, applications, market and the other on Tri-Centric - Design, features, applications and markets. The awards category included Best performing region, Best performance for customer centricity, President’s award for outstanding leadership, Best salesperson of the year award, Export team award, Export star and the International khiladi. Swapan said, “We have a team of highly motivated individuals and it is time we had a platform to celebrate their efforts. This is the objective behind the national sales awards.”
