Many questions remained unanswered in the Trinity Towers™ Extended Urban Revival Proposal. • • • •

Why do public spaces in the city require activation, and why were these ones chosen? Why the railway stations in Brussels are so important in the context of real estate? Why the North Station in particular needs all this attention? What is wrong with the existing situation?

The purpose of this document is to answer these and other questions, by providing a succinct summary of the in-depth research conducted prior to the beginning of the Proposal. As we have learned, the public spaces in the city are still showcasing traumatic changes that the city has faced. These marks on the surface of the city provide an enormous potential, as they are largely untreated and thus provide ample vacant space. These spaces can then be meaninfully used as an extension to the station, reconnecting the city and the station as they once were. With an increased focus on quality of life, well-being and ecology, they project aims seeks to transform these spaces into active, healthy and green spaces. Brussels is the capital of Europe, so as a city, why should it not reflect the European values including ecology, inclusivity and health?
