Thunderbridge, Kirkburton, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire HD8 0PX T: 01484 605 778 W: www.woodman-inn.com From humble beginnings as an 18th Century drinking inn, The Woodman Inn has provided sustenance to thousands of travellers in a tranquil, rural location in the tiny hamlet of Thunderbridge, near Huddersfield. This historic village lies within a conservation area, and the hamlet was originally believed to have been named after “Th (e)” under bridge, to distinguish it from a second bridge further up the valley. The first landlord was one Henry Wickman,
and in a nod to our historic heritage, we named one of our beautiful bedrooms “The Wickman Suite”. Jump forward 300 years and The Woodman has been transformed into a 21st century pub/restaurant/ hotel which prides itself on serving fresh local produce, perfectly cooked and served by our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Downstairs our traditional pub offers an extensive selection of award-winning cask ales and superb choice of fine wines.
