FIND THE RIGHT ROUTE FOR YOU... YORKSHIRE WOLDS CYCLE ROUTE Distance: 235km (146 miles) A well-signed circular route that takes in the beautiful rolling hills, dramatic coastline, grand country houses, nature reserves and historic priories of the Yorkshire Wolds.

THE TRANS PENNINE TRAIL Total trail distance: 596km (370 miles) This trail is mostly off-road and largely purpose-built. As well as passing through many urban areas the trail takes in beautiful countryside, villages, castles, abbeys, minsters, canals and railway heritage.

WAY OF THE ROSES Distance: 274km (170 miles) Starting in Lancashire, the majority of this coast to coast route is in Yorkshire and showcases the best that Northern England has to offer, from rich cultural heritage to stunning natural beauty.

YORKSHIRE DALES CYCLEWAY Distance: 209km (130 miles) A challenging 130 mile ride through the stunning countryside which featured in the 2014 Grand Départ. Plenty of pubs, cafes, and places to stay en route.

BRANSDALE LOOP Distance: 44km (26.5 miles) Explore the ‘lost dale’ of Bransdale on a single road that loops around its flanking moors, offering a mix of quiet road riding and fabulous valley views.

www.northyorkmoors.org.uk/ cycling WALNEY TO WHITBY Distance: 288km (179 miles) This coast to coast route takes you from Walney Island to Whitby. Reaching Yorkshire, you will follow National Route 165 to Whitby via the Esk Valley – this last 30 miles is not for the faint hearted!

YORK TO MIDDLESBROUGH Distance: 98km (61 miles) Follow National Route 65 to Beningborough Hall & Gardens, picturesque villages like Easingwold, and the beautiful North York Moors National Park.

THE TRANS PENNINE TRAIL Tel: 01226 772 574 www.transpenninetrail.org.uk The Trans Pennine Trail allows you to follow scenic routes on traffic free trails around the picturesque landscape of the North of England. Barnsley is the mid-point of the trail and a wonderful location to start your adventure. The route leads you around the stunning surroundings of Penistone and you can take in the wonderful sights at Worsbrough Mill County Park. There is also great access to the fantastic attractions in Barnsley which includes Elsecar Heritage Centre, RSPB Old Moor, Experience Barnsley, The Cooper Gallery, Cannon Hall Museum, The Civic, Barnsley and the Town Centre. These are all perfect places to stop off on your journey. With lots of great cafes and tea rooms along the way it makes for a great day out.
