welcome

delicious trail fish & chips

Welcome to our new Delicious Fish & Chip trail, which we hope will inspire you to take a culinary tour of some of the fish and chip shops and restaurants in the county. Fish and chips are one of our Great British institutions, whether eaten straight from the paper or from a plate, with mushy peas or a nice glass of wine, you can’t beat a good portion of Yorkshire fish and chips. We believe there are some of the finest fish and chip restaurants and take-aways in the world right here in Yorkshire and while we couldn’t fit them all in, we wanted to give visitors a taste of some of the best places for great fish and chips. We are delighted to have the backing of Seafish, the authority on seafood. Founded in 1981 by an Act of Parliament Seafish, supports all sectors of the seafood industry for a sustainable, profitable future. It is the only pan-industry body offering services to all parts of the seafood industry, including catching and aquaculture, processors, importers, exporters and distributors of seafood and restaurants and retailers.

From sandy Blue Flag beaches to working harbours and brightly coloured fishing boats, imposing abbeys to quaint coastal villages, and from bustling seafood markets to the UK’s most delicious fish and chips. The Yorkshire Coast is one of the UK’s most popular seaside destinations, with a diverse blend of white cliffs and designated heritage coast around Flamborough Head and a selection of Britain’s best seaside holiday resorts. This scenic coastline boasts a number of immaculate Blue Flag beaches, including Bridlington, Hornsea, Withernsea, Filey, Scarborough North Bay and Whitby West Cliff – glorious on a warm summer’s day and on a winter afternoon!

So, whether you are simply hooked on haddock or caught on cod – there’s something for everyone to get their teeth into. We hope you enjoy this Fish & Chip trail!
