3 Strain the soaked fruit, reserving the liquor, and add to the mixture with the whole cherries. Add enough of the remaining Yorkshire Tea liquor to form a soft batter which holds its shape and is not too runny. Spoon the mixture into the prepared loaf tin making sure to leave a minimum gap of 0.5cm from the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. To slice, use a serrated knife and store in an airtight container.

Method
Yorkshire’s cities and market towns are easy to get to from other parts of the country. Travel to Yorkshire with high-speed trains from either London or Edinburgh in less than two hours with London North Eastern Railway and Grand Central services. You can also get to Yorkshire by train from the North West with First TransPennine Express, who offer direct services into the county from Liverpool and Manchester. 1 Preheat the oven to 170 ºC (gas mark 5). Grease and line the base and sides of a loaf tin with baking parchment. Add 2 tea bags to 150ml of boiling water and allow to brew for 3-4 minutes. Pour the tea over the fruits (not the cherries) and leave for 2 hours prior to baking.
