"Alpinerer Architekturen" is an essay by Andreas Kofler about an architectural mutation of postmodernity found in the German-speaking Italian province of South Tyrol. The historic interruption of modernism at its very beginnings, and the strong tourism boom in the region since the "Wirtschaftswunder", has led up to a specific and iconoclastic form of postmodernity which's origins have been blurred by its own complexity and implicitness of its success. Explanations are found in a nearly encyclopedic survey on the alpine myth and an itinerary through the highliest developed touristic areas of the region.
