Gallery Daphne Cowen Thursday 14th September – Thursday 26th October Daphne enjoys experimenting with various textile skills, developing ideas using both hand and machine embroidery, often working on silk paintings and using quilting and collage techniques. Much of her recent work depicts the changing Welsh landscape which she loves and in which she has lived for nearly forty years.

Royal Opera House Live: Mozart’s The Magic Flute (12A)

Prince Tamino promises the Queen of the Night that he will rescue her daughter Pamina from the enchanter Sarastro. He begins his quest, accompanied by the bird-catcher Papageno – but all is not as it seems… David McVicar’s classic production embraces both the seriousness and comedy of Mozart’s work. The audience is transported to a fantastical world of dancing animals, flying machines and dazzlingly starry skies providing a wonderful backdrop for Mozart’s kaleidoscopic score.

DEMENTIA FRIENDLY Wem Town Hall is proud to be offering access to the arts for dementia and memory loss sufferers. Dementia Friendly Showings are open to all but will be more relaxed, with lights on and sound level low with specially trained ushers on hand to assist.
