The Loop Trail I f you are looking for a place to walk or ride your bike, check out the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail. Known simply as "the loop" by locals, the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail is a Wenatchee Valley landmark. For a day of adventure, follow the 11-mile paved path along the shoreline of the Columbia as it crosses three bridges and threads through the various parks and natural ecosystems of the Wenatchee Valley.

Pick your path

On the Wenatchee side of the path you will find shade and green grass. On the east side near the Odabashian Bridge, however, shrubsteppe and a beautiful view of the Cascades await.

History

The Pipeline Pedestrian

World photo/Don Seabrook The Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail offers big views of the Wenatchee Foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

Bridge, built in 1908, was the first bridge to span the Columbia River. Trees shade the trail near the bridge’s east end and Hale Park’s off-leash dog park is on the west end.

Fish

Stand on the pedestrian bridge spanning the

Wenatchee River long enough, and you just might see migrating salmon on their way upstream to spawn. The bridge is just a few steps from Confluence State Park.

Keep riding

Feel like going farther? Two more paved paths con-

nect to the loop. The first travels 2.2 miles down the Columbia River to Hydro Park. While the other path goes 5.5 miles up the Columbia to Lincoln Rock State Park. Don’t forget to stop for a breather and enjoy the view of Rocky Reach Dam on your way to Lincoln Rock.
