ined with orchards and bordered by the Wenatchee-Okanogan National Forest, Entiat sits at the confluence of the Columbia and Entiat rivers. It is located midway between Wenatchee and Lake Chelan on Highway 97A. The small, riverside town offers a host of outdoor recreational activities. Entiat was settled by the Columbia River Chinook Indian Tribe during the 1800s. The tribe named the town “Enteatqua,” which means rapid water — a fitting name for a city nestled between rivers. In 1961, Entiat disappeared underwater, flooded by the backwaters of the new Rocky Reach dam. The town
