njoy sweeping views of the Wenatchee Valley as you hike through the wildflower laden, shrub-steppe hillsides of the Wenatchee Foothills. The Foothills trail system is an interlocking web of trails accessed by one of six easy-to-reach trailheads.

The trails are well-maintained and offer sweeping views of the city and Columbia River. Here are two of the most popular:

Saddle Rock Gateway

A local favorite, the Saddle Rock trailhead

provides great access to Saddle Rock, an iconic city landmark. The trailhead has plenty of amenities, including more than 80 parking spaces and connects with two trails — the main trail (1.3 miles from trailhead to Saddle Rock’s peak) and the east trail (1.75 miles from

trailhead to peak).

The Horse Lake Road Trailhead

Horse Lake is a 1,500-acre reserve dedicated to conservation and wildlife habitat. The trailhead is reachable by dirt road and starts you high on the northern edge of the foothills.
