MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR
Wendover News has moved!
The refurbishment of the Florence Nightingale Hospice Shop and their need for more space now means that Wendover News was unable to return to the first floor office within the shop. The shop is due to re-open at the end of June.
Fortunately, Susan Gray, artist, had just vacated her studio in Robert Mews and the landlord was pleased for Wendover News to move in when it was possible to do so. To find us, follow the signs through the archway between the old Lloyds Bank Building (now hosting an antiques dealer and Basfords Jewellers) and First Class Barbers. Wendover News is in the first space within the old barns which were refurbished a few years ago.
We can never guarantee to be there as we need to go out and meet clients but please phone 01296 624270 and we will make a mutually convenient appointment. We are usually there on weekday mornings but as we relax lockdown there will only ever be one member of staff within the office at a time and initially we will open the upper stable door to speak through to you at a safe distance.
Coronavirus
A brief glance at the coronavirus statistics on the gov.uk website reveal that Aylesbury Vale recorded a total of 434 deaths up to Tuesday 16 June. Many local people are grieving as a result. We cannot predict the future but we can thank the local volunteers who have done so much so far. Please see pages 12 and 13 to read some stories from the Good Neighbour Scheme. On pages 14-16 you can read about some of the local retailers who have kept us supplied . households. If you do not receive one at home and would like to volunteer to deliver for us to your road, please contact the office (see above). Wendover News would like to thank all its willing volunteers.
