Wendover Scarecrow Trail is back!

8am Sun 15 August to 8pm Mon 30 August.

Remember what fun we all had enjoying the creativity of our neighbours last summer?

This year's theme is children’s literature.

• To enter you must be able to display a scarecrow for two weeks in August, the scarecrow must be robust enough to withstand all weather, rain, wind and hopefully sunshine. • The scarecrow must be displayed all the time. • You must not reveal the identity of your scarecrow, you can have props, clues, and comedy poses that will help the participants but please do not confirm the guesses.

These are the judging criteria: 1. Peoples favourite 2. Judge’s favourite 3. Best use of props 4. Innovative use of location 5. Comedy value

There is an admin fee of £5 to display a scarecrow, email scarecrowtrailwendover@ gmail.com or through Facebook www. facebook.com/SummerScarecrowTrail. The organisers will reply as soon as they are able to.

No guarantee you will be able to have your first choice of scarecrow, there were duplicate requests last year so the sooner you apply the better.

Midwich Cuckoos in Wendover

Did you see a film crew in Wendover High Street on Sunday 6 June? It was Sky TV filming a new version of the John Wyndham SciFi novel The Midwich Cuckoos featuring our Station, Manor Waste and Budgens Supermarket. They moved to Old Amersham the following week.
