We are so lucky to have a children's author, targeting under-10s, living in our midst. Two books are already available:

•The Giant of Jiggery Pokery, and his Amazing Seven League boots

•A Racehorse called Spirit of Springbok, Further adventures of the Four Sams Belvedere

SM Thornton plans for FIVE further children’s books to follow in 2023 and there is a WW2 adult non-fiction true story in the pipeline for as soon as possible. Her vision is to get young readers, writers, illustrators, and reviewers into print, and she is also a member of Chiltern Writers. " … I am keen to bring together small children’s groups especially whilst the library is closed for refurbishment." So watch out for the Green Ink Books adverts in the Events pages of Wendover News.

The actual cost to the writer of each children’s book is £6.50 and this includes a charity donation of £1 per book sold. It also begins to repay SM Thornton’s illustrator. SM Thornton supports 4 children's charities: End Polio Now (through Rotary); Riding for the Disabled Association; local community singing; Library Projects.
