Today things don’t have a chance to age anymore... They are replaced before their forms and surface have a chance to transform with age. From the perspective of design, the question about wearing out of products is a question about the thinking of products as a temporal process. Therefore I designed a teacup set that not only have its own primary functions, but also evoke intimacy and emotional connection with the users. By transforming tea stains to be a beauty element in the design, in order to suggest that USE is not damaging the product, it won’t loose value with age, instead, the continue use will enhance the life and beauty of the cup. I choose the name “BlossUm”, as to indicate that you can bring the teacups alive through use, just like the process of flowering tea that blooms beautifully in the teapot. As a result, the more the teacup is used, the more the hidden beauty is revealed. Allowing them to transform, to create a story with the users...
