Moonlight clinging to mountain peaks; swooping eagles, backstroke otters; storm watches; blood red sundown reflections from coveted Sunset Avenue in the Historical North Admiral District. 1910’s vocabulary still valid ~ components grasped even today. Dentil moldings, leaded beveled glass windows; white Russian oak; rich, burnished Mahogany; 5’ wainscoting, paned buffet and service wall. Intimate library, gas fireplace; Loretta Warner windows. Arches; black and white tiles; sash windows. Magnificent dinner room. Conversation divisions. The Gardens! Sunlit, bursting, secret. First, step into a time-honored foyer with its built-in mirrored bench from 1911. Fling your arms wide in the entertainment size living/family/gathering/party room with beamed ceilings; corner to corner picture windows acting as a solarium wall. Click the camera…capture the expansive views of the Olympic Mountains, Bainbridge to the west, Magnolia and Elliot Bay to the North and Blake Island to the South. Lose yourself watching the majestic Puget Sound ferries. Wood burning fireplace. Original floors. Absorb the historical nature of the home and West Seattle lifestyle. Retro-century great room comfort pirated from early architectural explorations of Frank Lloyd Wright ~ brilliantly endorsed in this 1910 Dutch Colonial. Inviting gated approach... century cherry tree. Enchanting garden and potting room. Evoking yesterday and a bygone era…conditioned for living full recreation, diversions and fulfillment of the 21st century.

FACES AND PLACES
the faces and places of West Seattle, WA By:Wendy Lister
WEST SEATTLE, WA Birthplace of Seattle West Seattle is a hilly district west of the Duwamish River, made up of several neighborhoods, a beachfront, large parks and memorable views of the Seattle skyline, Puget Sound and the Cascade and Olympic mountains. Each summer, during the Seafair celebration, an Alki Beach landing party re-enactment commemorates where Seattle was founded by the Denny Party settlers in 1851. The community hosts several popular natural settings, including Alki Beach, Lincoln Park, Longfellow Creek and Trail, Schmitz Preserve Park and Westcrest Park. Washington State Ferries in the Fauntleroy neighborhood serve Vashon Island and Southworth on the Kitsap Peninsula. A shuttle ferry, the West Seattle Water Taxi, runs over to downtown Seattle. www.seattle.gov/tour/westseattle.htm
