PLEASE WATCH: WFG WIRE FRAUD WARNING

Curious to see what can happen when a “bad actor” hacks your email? Here is a true story with a timely message for you: http://bit.ly/wiref raudstory

6 WAYS TO SUCCESSFULLY AVOID HACKERS & WIRE FRAUD Every day, internet hackers are trying to steal home sellers’ and buyers’ money through wire fraud activities by sending fake wire instructions. Criminals will create an email address similar to your real estate agent or title company, then add their logo and other details such as photo and phone number to make it look like the email came from them. You can protect yourself and your money by following the steps below. 1. Do not send sensitive financial information via email. 2. Call, do not email. Confirm your wiring instructions by phone using a known number before transferring funds. 3. We will never email wiring instructions to you or change WFG account information after it’s been provided to you by our staff. 4. Keep your email account clean, remove any stale messages. Hackers can watch your business patterns and use this information against you. 5. Ask your bank to confirm the name on the account before sending a wire. 6. Call your title company or real estate agent within four to eight hours to confirm they have received your money.
