DISASTER DESCRIPTION
The Diavik Diamond Mine is located in Lac de Gras in the Northwest Territories, which is an ecologically sensitive environment. This mine has operated continuously since production began in 2003. And after 2012, Diavik mine became a fully underground mine.
CLIENT DESCRIPTION & NEEDS Client: Canada government Canada is committed to pursuing a realistic, focussed and measurable Post-2015 Development Agenda that integrates the three dimensions of sustainable development – social, economic, and environmental. And on of its core priorities is: job creation/ sustainable economic growth.
Needs: Based on the view of sustainable development, Canada government wants to create more wealth by using environmental-friendly method. That is to say the government hopes that people can make full use of existing resource to create more wealth.
Interests: 1. Attracting more tourists (creating wealth) 2. Getting sponsors 3. Reduce maintenance fee 4. Creating jobs
