INDEX
I believe that Landscape Architecture is a magical cure which helps fixing multiple complex relationships inside human society, and ameliorates the pain that nature feels because of the violent changes in urban development. This portfolio is my exploration of the power of landscape design in serving the public and nature, inlcuding enchancing social interaction, introducing healthy and democratic life, bringing out the best side of a natural resource with respect, and solving radical social problems.

Uni-Center Description: The site is called ''U-center'' as the short of ''Center of The Universe'' by nearby residents, for its diverse passers-by and prosperous location. Surrounded by multiple land uses - residential, commercial, universities, and two busy subway stations, the site is accessed by more than 100,000 people everyday. However, people have neither outdoor activity space nor opportunities to interact with others currently. By introducing a series of open-ended and flexible venues, this design intends to create a stage where interesting and meaningful social dramas could be on, meanwhile connecting people of different social groups. Location: Wudaokou, Beijing, China Type: Academic/Individual work Duration: 2017.5-2017.7 Instructor: Dongyun Liu, Siyuan Wang

Hug the River Description: Xiaoyue River is located in the northeast part of Haidian District, Beijing running through several important educational and residential areas. The hard riverbanks separate the river from the city, making the river unaccessible for human beings and other creatures nowadays. In this design, We intend to make the river a destination by the rebuild of diverse types of riverbank as well as the introduction of human activity, and at the same time, improve its ecology value. A Football Favela
10+186 10+186 10+186
Description: Rocinha is the most famous favela in Rio de Janeiro and it is facing tremendous social problems: high crime rate and giant gap with adjacent communities. Considering the fact that football is Brazilian's favorite sport and is almost the only way by which favela kids could get into higher social class, this design intends to ameliorate the problems by implanting football elements into high risky spaces and teenager-active areas to reduce crimes as well as providing more opportunities for kids practicing football, for fun and for decreasing their chance of committing crimes.

Meanwhile, football team would help develop friendship between students and reduce their conflicts. 43

Flower Border Design
Landscape Planting Design Description: In some extent, plants are the soul of landscape design. They have huge aesthetic and ecological value, providing landscape with vitality. I consider each plant as a special individual who could deliver messages from nature to human beings, in their unique and romantic ways. The two projects are my undergraduate works reflecting my comprehension of plants and landscape. One is a plant planning based on a famous park and the other is flower border design for the entrance of the Yuyuantan Park in Beijing. Type: Academic/Individual work Duration:2017.03-2017.06 Instructor: Hao Yin/Hui Li The flower border is located in the entrance of Yuyuantan Park, and it has a white wall of a historical architecture as background. The theme of the flower border is "Flowing Fire". By arranging plants colored from prune to pink according to the color character of fire, the flower border intends to express the fire-like ardent and vigorous atmosphere in the civil park.

List of plants This plant planing is based on the Los Angeles State Historic Park designed by Hargreaves Associates. The designer put up a concept of showing different types of nature in the park. To make the idea continuing, I choose indigenous plants in Beijing to create distinctive atmosphere in different zones of the park: indigenous plant species from Baihua Moutain to represent the rural nature; ornamental crops to represent the second nature-agriculture; and garden plants to represent the third nature-human gardens. The three zones defined by different plants provide people with diverse aesthetic joy and activities.
