SITE Warming up by doing background research and get familiar with the site which we need to design later. CLIMATE
TEMPERATURE INTENSITY GRAPH This temperature intensity graph demonstrates the thermal transfer within Concrete Lawn. The level of temperature is represented in different colors from light to dark which shows at the bottom. We can see the temperature is higher where it is closer to the gate of the building as most of the people pass through. The temperature also relates to the material, the concrete path has a pretty high temperature which shows in dark yellow as concrete is not good at transfer heat. And the temperature reaches the lowest at vegetation area as grass and trees are great objects to balance the temperature.
The Climate task includes shadow maps and a detailed temperature intensity graph. The shadow maps include the shadow of buildings and vegetation at 9am,1pm and 5pm at Concrete Lawn. Due to different place of the sun at different times, the shadow shows in different directions and scales such as the shadow at 9 a.m. points to an opposite direction as the shadow at 1pm and 5pm does. As the sunlight at 5 pm has a smallest angle with the horizon ground, the shadow becomes the longest, in comparison to the shadows at 9 am and 1 pm.

LANDFORMING Use goat horns as base shape and deconstructivism as main theory to separate to multiple small components, which can be considered as individual vaults as extrudation.

Using smoothing strategy, combine the previous two models together by changing the orientations and choosing junctions to make them become one whole system. Arches are used to indicate the shape of the horns, which will be used to support roof later in EXPERIENCE collage.

“You are the survivors.” A voice said, sounds like it is the god here. Anyway, we were put into this world, without colour, gravity, common sense. We are told the real world was doomed. The voice also says, we are free to leave and go back to the real world if we do not trust it. The price will be no way back. If it is true, maybe we will die outside. People start to argue. “I’m leaving! I don’t believe that bullshit!” “What if it is true? Perhaps you will die!” “Are you satis ed with this? I would rather die in the real world than living here!” A little girl is sitting on the stair armrest. “What are you looking at?” I ask. “I just miss my mum.” “Hey! You!” Then I realised a man is pointing at me. “Don’t you dare to leave!” said he, “We believe this and we carry on, then we will not get hurt! Understand?”
100 word Narrative + Spatio- Temporal Narrative
This narrative is about debate, which means various opinions encounter with each other. This theme and a developed shape from the horn will be used in my final project.

EXPERIENCE collage Experience collage is inspired from my superposition collage, which developed from the assemblage model with smoothing strategy. Arches are

Texture & Shadow The theory deconstructivism is still used in my final project as its feature is to make each part seperate and increase the accessibility, which is vital for a public area. Different directions that vaults point to, represent various opinions during debate. Use timber (wood) as main material because it is light and safe, which is also fit well with trees and grass. Wood is also able to be anti corrosion and oxidation after chemical treatment. Vaults are orientated horizontally with different angles and lead to the door of every building. Orientated vertically to face North, West and East to block large range of sunlight and provides effective shading. However, as a opening space, proper sunlight intake is essential so most of the small vaults do no have roofs. The roof of center vaults are also able to prevent rain from coming in.

1 : 50 partial section with people to show the actual scale and thickness of the model. There are interior lights at the top of each vault.
Full section 1:100
Accurate scale and realistic function are shown in 1: 50 partial section. This full section with wood texture and sunset background is to demonstrate the general effect of the project. Wood texture is not filled erverywhere of the model, aim to provide a hazy atmesphere and an overall feeling.
