VISUAL REPRESENTATION & TECHNOLOGY
ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING + REPRESENTATION M.ARCH YEAR 1 PROJECT INSTRUCTOR: LAURA KURGAN Drawing Machine This is a tool for designing a theme-park for diving. The designer will locate the diving boards (by drawing a polyline) within the lot boundary, and supporting structure and pool will be generated backstage in relation to the diving boards. It embedded BIM thoughts behind theme park design game like “Roller Coaster Tycoon and expanded the concept with a new representation method (elevation view with BIMed diver).

The tool desires to free designer from thinking about every aspects when designing (structure, form, pool depth and divers) and allows user to quickly test multiple options. Designers can test things breaking the written rule but usually it ends up with awkward geometry.

REM: Rapid Election Machine REM is a tool for electing “Instructors” for selecting design options at every design decisions. Each player will submit his/her design and vote for an “Instructor” - either REM, or STEVE or ZAHA at each step. Then REM will give an output geometry resulting from the weighted voting results. Then team members continue designing based on STEP 1 output geometry, submit their individual STEP 2 output geometry and vote for “instructor” again. This process continues for STEP 3, 4 etc.In this way, the tool works as a form generation
