SARGAM South Asian Singing Contest - Auditions
The Drum and mac Birmingham are thrilled to welcome Afrovibes to Birmingham - a biennial festival that celebrates the finest South African contemporary theatre, music and visual arts. Marking the 20th anniversary of the first democratic election in South Africa, the season promises to illustrate the many voices and experiences of the country, while offering UK audiences and artists the opportunity to engage with visiting performers. “In 1994 a new nation was born. Since then, our artists have been showing the world that South Africa has stories to tell: stories that speak to the collective memory of who we are. Yet at the same time they weave new narratives that speak of life in South Africa today - stories that link us with the world” James Ngcobo Artistic Director of Afrovibes
