The Drum is pleased to host an exhibition charting the final days of the apartheid era in South Africa through the lens of preeminent documentary photographer Dr Vanley Burke. Burke travelled extensively throughout South Africa to Soweto, Sharpeville, Bophuthatswana, Cape Town and Durban, talking to people, attending rallies, funerals and demonstrations. This selection of photographs from the Library of Birmingham archives provides a unique insight of a nation undergoing immense change towards eventual democracy.
