CLASS OF 2020

CONGRATULATIONS

COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS

GREG LISSON

“My fellow graduates, you have truly made your indelible mark on this school. I have seen you come together in moments of celebration and in moments of strife, highlighting each other’s strengths and helping each other to grow despite your weaknesses. Class of 2020, thank you for demonstrating how to appreciate one another and to live intentionally. Thank you for finding ways to involve yourself and improve our community. Thank you for truly embodying the JOY motto.” “I hope you know that you are seen, and no mask or social distancing could change that. We see your academic achievements, artistic accolades, and athletic accomplishments (and we know there would have been a few more if senior year hadn’t been cut short). But more importantly, we see your love for each other. We see your remarkable attitude and spirit when times are good and in difficult circumstances. We see your servant leadership within our community. We see you,

LINDSEY MAINS

you are important to us, and we value you.”

VALEDICTORIAN ADDRESS

ANDY YANG

“We are a diverse class filled with people of varying talents, interests, and backgrounds, and yet we have continued to maintain a strong sense of unity, of community, among us. Moments I remember, such as us all storming across Robinson Field after our final homecoming and joining in a huge circle, or freezing to death together at the state championship football game, really show what’s so unique about our class. Whether it’s on the field, the stage, or in the classroom, we are always cheering each other on, always seeking to create that unity. Wesleyan has provided us with such a nurturing environment to learn and grow in, but it’s truly the people who have taught me the value of being a diverse yet unified community.”
