6TH GRADE

This fall, teachers, administrators, facilities staff, and the technology department undertook the monumental challenge of creating a safe campus environment for students to return to campus. Countless department meetings, Zoom calls, task forces, and campus preparations allowed school to start on August 12. This hard work made it possible for kindergarten through fifth grade to be fully on-campus and sixth through 12th grade to begin in a 50/50 hybrid model of learning to start the year. The sheer amount of work to prepare campus included: moving furniture in classrooms, adjusting lesson plans and teaching styles for virtual learners, and re-thinking after school activities. All of these efforts did not go unnoticed by Wesleyan students!

“It was an amazing feeling being able to come back to school in person for the first time. It made me appreciate how hard the teachers worked in order for us to come back to school. I didn’t realize how much easier and more fun it is to learn in a classroom rather than from my computer screen at home!”
