the City for All Women Initiative, the WOCRC, the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres of Ottawa. Those selected to participate will learn the skills necessary to facilitate a community café on voting, said Maria Friis, community developer with Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre. “We’re looking for women who are living on low-income and women who are interested in learning about the elections and also in sharing their perspectives and insights,” she said. “The federal election, although far away, has an impact on what happens in our daily lives.” See IT’S TIME, page 7

As the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Centre prepares for the grand opening of its expanded building, thieves have struck again. This time a large beige-coloured gazebo was taken from the centre grounds sometime overnight on Aug. 14-15. Ian Glen, president of the Constance
