THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL Rehearsals for Dalby State High’s production of The Addams Family are in full swing and the show is shaping up to be one of the high school’s best. Costumes are being fitted, scripts are being committed to memory and sets are receiving their final touches as excitement and anticipation grows amongst the staff, students and community. One hundred students of cast and crew have committed countless hours since the start of term One. Director, Tara Routley, is incredibly excited about the professional production that will undoubtedly be enjoyed by thousands of Dalby residents. When asked about the production and rehearsal process she states that “parents and grandparents who grew up in the 60s and 70s will remember the much loved TV show and we have had so much fun bringing The Addams Family characters to life on stage.  So bring the whole family along to this spooky and kooky production and get your fingers clicking along with The Addams Family. WANDOAN RACES WRAP UP The Wandoan Digger’s Race Club Inc. took a new approach to the annual Wandoan Race day, to be a bigger and better event, and thanks to the club members as well as the sponsors, it was. This year for the first time the Wandoan races held the Wandoan Cup Perpetual Trophy, created and sponsored by Peter Shadforth and his team from Windmill Village. The trophy beautifully represents our country life with essentials including a windmill and a water tank. From 2016 onwards the Wandoan Races shall be better known as the Wandoan Cup.

The day went by with two fashion parades, one by the newcomer Amy Bevan from “PoppyMay, Miles with her retro inspired outfits, which were beautifully presented. The 2016 Wandoan Cup was a funfilled day with many people going to the effort to get dressed up and I have to say, we as a little rural town in the Western Downs, scrub up nicely!
