WESTERN MENNONITE SCHOOL PHONE SYSTEM The school phones are for school business. Please keep your personal calls to a minimum. Do your personal calling at home when at all possible* The school has access to eight lines. One of the lines is shared with the Western Mennonite Church; another is primarily for the FAX. If you are about to use the last free line (5 lines are already lit up) be sure it is a very important call. It is best if there is always a free line for incoming calls. MAKING OUTSIDE CALLS A Local Calls, 1-800 (toll free calls) and Calling Cards 1. Dial 9 to get an outside line or press the button labeled "OUTSIDE LINE" 2. Dial the phone number desired B. Long distance calls (USA and CANADA) 1. Dial 9 to get an outside line or press the button labeled "OUTSIDE LINE" 2. Dial 1 and then the phone number desired 3. Listen for the accounting code tone 4. Dial your two digit accounting department code. This is also your copy machine accounting code. C. Calls to other countries 1. Dial 9 to get an outside line or press the button labeled "OUTSIDE LINE" 2. Dial 011 + country code + city code + phone number 3. Listen for the accounting code tone 4. Dial your two digit accounting department code. This is also your copy machine accounting code. CALLING ANOTHER PHONE ON CAMPUS 1. Pick up the hand set 2. Dial the three digit phone extension number (See phone directory) 3. You can now talk to the person at the extension over the phone intercom TO TRANSFER A CALL TO A SPECIFIC PHONE 1. After telling the caller you are transferring the call, press "CONF/TRANS" 2. Dial the phone extension (you can now talk to the person on the extension intercom) 3. When you hang up, the extension phone connects to the outside line. TO GET SOMEONE TO THE PHONE FOR A CALL (Do not do this during class or study hall) 1. After telling the caller that you will page the person, press "HOLD" 2. See which line number just started flashing 3. Tap the off hook switch 4. Press the button labeled "ALL CALL" 5- Repeat twice into handset saying who the call is for, and on what line. 6. Tap the off hook switch before hanging up to prevent a clanging noise over the intercom. TO ANSWER AN ALL CALL PAGE Find the nearest phone and press the flashing button for the line number called. FROM OFF CAMPUS TO CALL DIRECTLY TO A SPECIFIC EXTENSION FROM OFF CAMPUS 1. From off campus, dial 503-371-3612 2. As the message starts, dial the 3 digit extension number or dial 411 for the directory TO CHECK FOR YOUR MESSAGES FROM OFF CAMPUS 1. From off campus, dial 503-371-3612 2. CALL WARE VOICEMAIL USER GUIDE To SET UP Your Mailbox: • Press your Voicemail Access button (or dial 8) from your extension • Enter your temporary passcode: 1234. • You will be taken through a one-time tutorial that will let you set up your mailbox (choose a new passcode, record your personal greeting and name prompt)

Enter Mailbox Number b. Press the * (star) key followed by a Distribution List Number c. Press 5 to look up a number. After recording your message, press: 9 = Deliver Message 7 = Play Message 3 = Record Message Again 2 = Add to Message 6 = Add Message Addressing Options Addressing Options 1 = Return Receipt 2 = Confidential 3 = Future Delivery 9 = Previous Menu 4 = Cancel Destination Mailbox 1 = Cancel Message

FAQ 1. To skip a personal greeting and go directly to the beep, diaL #. 2. To log into your mailbox from your personal greeting (using your DID number), wait until you hear your greeting, then dial: * 3. To log into your mailbox from company’s Main Greeting, when you hear the general greeting, dial # plus your Box Number. 4. To log into your mailbox from someone else’s phone: a. Dial the Voicemail access number (8) b. If voicemail asks you to enter your security code, press 0 to get to the Main Greeting. c. From the Main Greeting, dial # plus your Box Number. 5. To transfer directly into voicemail a. Press the Transfer key. b. Dial the Voicemail access number (8) c. When voicemail answers, dial the Box Number p!us the * (star) key d. Hang up.
