AUCTION

8:00AM-2:30PM HOURS

The Auction takes place each year on the first Saturday in May at the Oregon State Fairgrounds and all students are required to participate. There will be no school the following Monday in appreciation for the time dedicated to Auction day. Every year alumni join together to give many items to be sold on the auction block. Current 6th-12th grade classes will each present an item to be sold as well. Don’t hesitate to call Charlene Schultz with any questions or suggestions for donations at 503-363-2000. As the Auction draws closer your student will be assigned a specific 3 hour task. Assignments will be posted by Sheila Fahndrich. This is an excellent opportunity for family and friends to join you for a time of excitement and camaraderie as over 800 people come together to invest in the lives of your children. It is impressive to see the entire student body along with teachers, staff, parents, alumni and friends of Western unite to make this a successful event.

OVER

Dear WMS Family, You are a valued part of our community here at Western, a community that reaches far beyond our campus. As this year is already halfway through, we trust you are getting well acquainted with what it means to be a Pioneer! While Western may be considered a “small school”, the value that we place in our students, families, staff, alumni, and friends is of huge significance. Western has had a positive impact on many lives over the years and continues to do so. We recognize that one of the most tangible ways to continue making that impact is to ensure that students fill the classrooms at Western every year. Our Student Grant program is a considerable asset to over 40 percent of our students. The annual auction is dedicated to raising funds for our Grant Program; it is the largest event that we organize and is a highlight for the Western community. In an attempt to avoid any surprises or confusion we want to inform you now of what you can expect come Auction time in May.
