Our amazing fans won the Spirit Award for the second year in a row at the OSAA state basketball tournament in Pendleton, Oregon. One OSAA official was quoted as saying, “As long as Western Mennonite is at Pendleton, I don’t see any other school winning this award. Their fans are supportive, loud, and conduct themselves in a great manner.” The support to our athletic programs help make lifelong memories for our students. For those of you that have and continue to support Western athletics we thank you. Your support is appreciated and our school athletics would not be the same without you! Salem Basketball Officials Association Sportsmanship Award

Every year the SBOA presents their Sportsmanship Award to the school that best fulfills their criteria. For seven years in a now Western has received this honor that covers all 1A, 2A, and 3A schools. We feel this is a significant testament to what Western stands for and we are proud that our community is recognized for the way they represent our school! Board announces $1,000 Challenge

Are you up to the challenge? Last month Western’s School Board presented a $1,000 challenge to our community. Will you be one who answers this call? Will you join with us to maintain Westerns’ influence and presence?

Benefit Concert

This past weekend WMS hosted the annual benefit concert. Our choir performs at many churches, care homes, competitions, and choir conventions. The benefit concert helps make these performances possible by covering the expenses of travel, food, and lodging. Our choir performed wonderfully! Thank you to everyone for helping make this a successful event!

$25,000 has been received from those stepping up to this challenge. We are encouraged by these people who have put to action their support for Western. God’s faithfulness in both the good and difficult times is truly a blessing. As Western relies on 20% of its budget to be met through fundraising, we are trusting that our remaining $180,000 will be received in the coming months.
