WOU Soccer History In 1996, women’s soccer at Western Oregon became an intercollegiate sport again. The revival marked the second time in school history that women’s soccer was an official part of the athletic program. Western Oregon fielded a “club” team in 1995, but prior to that competed as an intercollegiate squad from 1981-85, a time spanning five seasons. Jackie Rice, who had coached the school’s women’s field hockey team for 12 years, co-coached the first two Western Oregon teams with Chris Creecy-Myers and then served as the head coach for two of the next three seasons. Both the men’s and women’s soccer programs were discontinued prior to the 1986 season. Records listed below do not reflect any marks prior to the 1996 season. Year Overall/Conf.
