The riparian passage on the property is abundant in vegetation, lining the stream banks and creek bottoms. The Ashton-Tetonia Trail One of the Estancia Squire’s greatest property attributes is direct access to the famous Ashton-Tetonia Trail, intersecting through the deeded ground. The trail officially opened in 2010 and extends approximately 30 miles between the towns of Ashton and Tetonia with mixed conditions of gravel and dirt surfaces. The trail follows the abandoned rail spur of the Teton Valley Branch of the Union Pacific Railroad (the Oregon Short Line). The trail is comprised of 5 bridges and restored rail trestles. The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation administers and manages the trail. During the winter season, snowmobiles are permitted on the trail, dependent on snow surface conditions. The trail is part of a larger trail network called the Greater Yellowstone Trail, which is being spearheaded by Wyoming Pathways. The developing 180-mile trail system will connect Jackson Hole, WY and West Yellowstone, Montana, via rail trails traversing Victor, Tetonia, Ashton, and Island Park. There is no other trail that compares to this authentic gem – the location, the views of the Teton Mountain Range, and the history are unrivaled. (307) 690-8855
