The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation administers and manages the trail. During the winter season, snowmobiles are permitted on the trail, dependent on snow surface conditions. The trail is part of a larger trail network called the Greater Yellowstone Trail, which is being spearheaded by Wyoming Pathways.
