Easter is here, and it’s important to avoid feeding hot cross buns to your dog, as they can contain harmful ingredients. Instead, here’s a super simple recipe made with fresh raw turkey mince that your Westie will love.
IngredIents:
500 grams turkey mince
3/4 cup ground flaxseed meal
10 carob buttons
2 teaspoons turmeric
2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
InstructIons:
In a small bowl, mix together the turkey mince, ground flaxseed meal, and turmeric.
Break each carob button into around six small pieces and add to the bowl. Mix everything together.
Take about 50 grams of the mixture and form it into a hot cross bun shape. If the mixture is too soft to shape, put it in the freezer for a few minutes to firm up.
Using a small piping bag, bottle, or spoon, drizzle a small amount of Greek yogurt over the top of each bun.
Once these hot cross buns are made, they can be frozen and defrosted when needed. However, it’s important to talk to a dog nutritionist or holistic vet to determine your dog’s individual daily nutritional needs.
