“At Westover, my athletic side has really come out. I’m on the Varsity tennis and swim teams, competing against strong opponents like Taft and Choate. At the NEPSSA Division III Championship, I broke the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke by nearly two seconds! It’s so satisfying to see my hard work pay o≈.” — sophia (far right), senior from monroe, ct, first head of the athletic association

“Singing in Glee has widened my knowledge of the different genres and construction of music, and singing in St. John the Divine was simply amazing. Listening to the sound of our voices within such an extravagant place and touching people’s hearts through our music was an experience that words just cannot express.” — victoria, junior from baltimore, md

Westover offers a breadth of programs outside of academics for all girls to discover and explore their passions. Every day students are given the time to participate in arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities, and, as a result, they try everything, from squash and canoeing to social activism and singing. Our size allows us the flexibility to accommodate all interests and talents. Novices and experienced athletes can achieve their personal best, competing in interscholastic sports or participating in personal fitness classes. Artists can develop talents or discover new ones through a range of performing and studio options. And for inspiration or just plain fun, students head to New York City, Boston, and New Haven for weekend activities or classroom field trips.

“Our students are involved in many activities and programs beyond the core academic program—and at Westover, this is intentional. We provide time in our students’ daily schedules for them to seize the day by taking part in music, athletics, visual and performing arts, and extracurriculars—they don’t have to choose one over the other.” — ben hildebrand, academic dean, science & wise teacher, coach
