I was blind and you opened my eyes, I was in darkness and you showed me light, the everlasting light of democracy, freedom, respect, and peace. You disclosed your heart to me, and accepted me like a new son through your gifts of cordiality, benvolence, and generosity. Who can obliterate your strength? Who can undermine your ardour? My heart throbs with you, my soul lives with you . Upon your altar, oh America, I lay a smiling forget-me-not. Flavia Sarni

....

THENANDONLY THENSHALL WE HAVE PEACE."

Fun, friends, and faith in humanity, these are the rewards found in a summer spent in Germany, sponsored by the A.F.S. When I went to Germany last year, I not only met many different people and had many won derful experiences, but I learned a new way of life that comes only with the k1;1owledge that one can experience by living in another country. I was given a chance that may never come again: the chance to understand the people of another nation, that is so important in this day and age. Bruce Goldstein

AND THE BAND PLAYED ON

62

•

The Warrior Band again added to their superior quality. Darwyn Snyder led the band in various concerts throughout the season . One of these which brought much fame to the band was a concert given at the All-State music clinic late in the fall. Throughout the football and basketball seasons, the band added to the high Warrior spirit . In March a concert which featured the famed Raphael Mendez, highlighted their season. The annual contest, held in the spring, reaped the usual Warrior Band success.

President- -Doug Dieterich Vice-President--Bob Saffer

JUNIORS Secretary--Judy Peterson Treasurer-- Tina Swanson

As the shadow of our Junior year fades into the past, we will soon be at the peak of our high school years- -our Senior year. As is traditional. the planning of the prom was the highlight of the year. With all the little things that went to make this last year full of joyful memories, we also struggled through our many problems. Among these were the rough exams, American History, and other science and math courses which we took. So as we go into the future, our Junior year will serve as one part of the glorious memories of our high school days. The Class of 1961
