Jim and Sue Beehler of Hilton are pleased to announce the engagement of their son Justin of Worcester, Massachusetts to Georgia Anderson, also of Worcester. Georgia is the daughter of Jim and Debbie Anderson of Liverpool, New York.

Georgia graduated from Liverpool High School, SUNY Oswego and received her master’s degree from SUNY Cortland. She is a teacher at Northwest School.

Justin, a graduate of Hilton High School and SUNY Oswego, is a manager at Hertz Corporation.

Their wedding is planned for December 2017.

Morrisville State College recently announced the students who were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

•Erin Clancy of Rochester •Adam Jay of Spencerport The following local residents earned a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the 2016-17 school year at SUNY Potsdam. Athletes named to the honor roll had a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA for the year.

•Jakeb Mitchell of Brockport, is a freshman member of the SUNY Potsdam men’s soccer team.

Local area students were named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at The University at Albany. Megan Stevens of Brockport was named to the president’s list for spring 2017 at the University of Alabama.

To achieve president’s list status, students must be enrolled full time and maintain a 4.0 GPA. Luke Quigley of Rochester earned dean’s list at Lycoming College for the spring 2017 semester. To achieve dean’s list status, students must complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the semester.

The following local students were named to the dean’s list at Alfred State University for the spring 2017 semester.

To be listed, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours for the semester and earned a 3.5 GPA. Those students honored are enrolled full-time in either the School of Applied Technology; School of Architecture, Management and Engineering Technology; or the School of Arts and Sciences.

•Heather Fumia of Holley majors in forensic science technology •Taylor Clay of Kendall majors in surveying & geomatics eng tech.

Wheaton College student Anna Miller of Spencerport recently received the John & Ruth Deitsch Fisher Music Fund Scholarship. This honor was announced by the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College’s Honors Convocation ceremony.

The John & Ruth Deitsch Fisher Music Fund Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior organ performance major.

Alana Olivieri of Spencerport has received the dean’s Letter of Commendation for the spring 2017 semester. Students who receive this commendation earned at least a 3.5 GPA in 6 graduation credits this semester.

The following area students received awards during the spring semester at Clarkson University: •Tyler Dodge Miller of Brockport, a sophomore majoring in civil engineering, received the Norbert L. Ackermann Endowed Fund Award. This award is given to two students, one in the sophomore class and one in the junior class of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering with the greatest promise for academic success.

•Krista N. Reger of Rochester, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, received the Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering Staff Award, awarded annually to the outstanding junior and the most promising senior in each major. The recipients are selected by the mechanical & aeronautical engineering faculty based on scholastic performance and other activities.

Raymond J. Stein III, son of Ray Stein Jr. and Meg Stein of Churchville graduated with a double major in health care administration and business administration and a minor in political science and international business. He also achieved dean’s list with honors for the spring 2017 semester at The College at Brockport. Raymond is a 2012 graduate of ChurchvilleChili High School.

Bianca Marascio, daughter of Domenic and Daniela Marascio of Spencerport achieved dean’s list for the spring semester 2017 at The College at Brockport.

Bianca is a 2016 graduate of Spencerport High School.
