Churchville honors Private Harvey C. Noone for Arbor Day This year marks the 100th anniversary of the death of US Army Infantryman, Private First Class Harvey C. Noone. The Village of Churchville decided to honor him through its annual Arbor Day planting. The Churchville Village Board adopted a proclamation recounting the details of the short, but heroic, life of this local resident. As Harvey was reaching adulthood, war broke out in Europe. It was a struggle of democracy versus tyranny. During the Revolutionary War, a young Frenchman, General Lafayette, came to America to assist in the fight for democracy. Now the freedom of France and much of the rest of Europe was being threatened. A decision was made for the U.S. to send troops to assist its allies. Like many others, young Harvey enlisted in the service. He was sent to France and he died in 1918 at the Battle of San Quentin. The decision of the village to join the legion in honoring Harvey this year by planting a tree is particularly appropriate. The tree was planted at the point of the West Shore Rail Trail that is accessed by Richmond Street. Directly south of that spot on the old Westshore Rail line is an area that was once known as Richmond Park, named after Civil War Major Henry Richmond. In her remarks at the tree planting, Mayor Nancy Steedman told those gathered that it is the vision of the village to enhance the rail trail by creating a small pocket park in an adjacent area where a decommissioned electric substation sits. So, once again, the community will have a park in that area and the centerpiece will be the oak tree planted in remembrance of Harvey. In her remarks, Mayor Steedman quoted Theodore Roosevelt, who said, “To exist as a nation, to prosper as a state, and to live as a people, we must have trees.” Looking around the village, it is obvious that the planting and maintenance of trees is a priority. Passing through the center of the village in the spring, one sees a beautiful display of flowering trees. And, since it is best practice that there are trees of varying ages, a few new street trees are planted each year. In 2002, the village began its annual Arbor Day Celebration. The National Arbor Day Foundation uses the phrase, “Trees make a world of difference.” Individuals do as well, and Harvey C. Noone was such an individual. The choice of an oak tree is particularly fitting because oak trees symbolize courage and strength, both of which are characteristics that echo the deeds of Harvey C.

Noone Legion and Auxiliary Members and Elected Officials – left to right: Susan Adams, Don Decker, Lorraine Linder, Tom Adams, Jack Linder, Churchville Mayor Nancy Steedman, Joe Olsovsky, Commander Gil Budd, Pamela Moore, Rich Thompson, Mary Martin, Dave Ess, Riga Supervisor Brad O’Brocta, County Legislator Steve Brew. Photo taken and submitted by Village of Churchville. Noone’s life. In his remarks, Legion Commander Gilbert Budd told those gathered that for years the Legion Post, which was chartered in 1924, met at various establishments, but had no permanent home. In 1953 when his mother, Mary E. Noone, died she left money to the Churchville American Legion to build a Post Home. Land was acquired and the Post Home was built on Buffalo Road, where it stands today, and it was named the Harvey C. Noone Post. Commander Budd went on to say that because the Legion has proudly played an integral part of the community for decades, it was decided to reach out to

other community groups to partner with it throughout the anniversary year to honor this hometown hero. After thanking the village for holding this first event, he went on to invite all to participate in the other events that will occur this year to honor Harvey. The next event will be the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade which will be held on May 28. Article Submitted by Harvey C. Noone Legion, Pamela Moore

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary (never known to fail) Oh, most beautiful flower of Mt. Carmel. Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven. Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin assist me in my necessity, Oh, Star of the Sea, hear me and show me herein you are my mother. Oh Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succor me in my necessity. (Make request). There are none that can withstand your power. Oh Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee (3 Times). Holy Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3 times). Say this prayer for three consecutive days. You must publish it, and it will be granted to you. Thank you Blessed Mother, you never fail your children. S.W.

Hilton Cadet Robotics FIRST® Team wins Rookie All-Star Award at World Championship The Hilton Cadet Robotics FIRST® Team #6868 traveled to Detroit, Michigan for the FIRST® World Championship on April 25 through 28. Cadet Robotics earned a place at the World Championship by winning Rookie All-Star Award at the Finger Lakes Regional Tournament on March 15 through 17 at Rochester Institute of Technology. With over 400 teams from around the country and around the world, Cadet Robotics was one of 27 rookie teams to participate. Three rookie teams took home the Rookie AllStar Award on the final day. The competition included two days of qualifying rounds (approximately 70 teams in six divisions). On the final day of competition, eight teams in each division chose three other teams to form an alliance and then competed in the semi-finals. Stephanie Mattice, Hilton High School technology teacher and team advisor, worked with the 12-member team over the course of a six-week build season and many hours of

practice time. Participation in this year’s competition was made possible by the support of 12 mentors from Bausch & Lomb and other industries in the Rochester area, along with generous sponsorships and grants from the Baush Foundation, NASA, and many other local companies and organizations. Those interested in joining the team (including upcoming ninth graders) should contact Mrs. Mattice at FRCTeam6868@ga.hiltoncsd.net. Fresh perspectives from artists with something to say at C-C High School The opening of Churchville-Chili’s 2018 Senior High School Art Show on April 25 was an opportunity for art lovers to preview up-and-coming talent and marvel at the diversity of their artistic visions. The show, located in the school’s C-C PAC Atrium, included hundreds of drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, digital artwork, ceramics and more. The exhibition ran through May 2. The work displayed was created under the guidance of Churchville-Chili art teachers Jonathan Woodard, Colleen L’Hommedieu, Kelly Bosco, Cheryl Simon and James Pisaturo. Several of the teachers were on hand at the recep-

tion to celebrate their student artists and meet attending parents, families, friends and community members. “Our teachers are wonderful at opening conceptual doors and then letting young artists go through in their own ways,” said Director of Fine Arts Jeff Smith. “It is so exciting to see the highly individualized responses each student artist has to the prompt and challenge presented within the same project. Their artistic solutions are totally unique. Viewers were impressed with the maturity and levels of creativity on display.” Provided information

Genesee Country Village & Museum opens May 12-13 Help plant a pioneer garden; meet the new baby animals - lambs, pigs, chickens and more; enjoy a guided nature hike; pose for a picture in Victorian clothing as part of a new gallery exhibit: these are just some of the many activities as Genesee Country Village & Museum unwraps its 2018 season on Saturday, May 12. Rug Hookers of the Finger Lakes offers a Saturday “Hooked in History,” an all-day hook-in for its members with a display of antique and member rugs. On Mother’s Day Sunday when all Moms are admitted free, there will also be a Moveable Fashion Show - a guided tour that examines garments worn by the women living and working in the various historic buildings.

The John L Wehle Gallery unveils two new exhibits: Victoria’s Closet - Fashions of the 1840s and Working Like a Dog. The Victoria exhibit showcases the clothing influenced by the young Queen Victoria along with a fun photo-op booth. The dog exhibit uses art to look at the significant relationship between man and canine through the centuries. Meanwhile, the Rochester Historical Society introduces a new exhibit entitled Yesterday’s Child in the grand LivingstonBackus House that once stood in downtown Rochester. It features 19th-century children’s portraits. Other Sunday activities include a tour of village gardens in search of “spring tonic” plants, 19th-century dancing demonstra-

tion and instruction, a program examining how a new baby affected a household in the 1830s, period games, among others. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday admission is $18 adults/$15 seniors/$10 youth/free for children 3 and under. Sunday admission is $22 adults/$19 seniors/$14 youth. Mothers and children 3 and under are free. During this season, the Print Shop in the Historic Village will be relocated a few doors away to provide more space for demonstrations of 19th-century printing techniques. In its former home, the museum will introduce a newly renovated interactive Telegraph Office, harkening back to the mid-1800s when Hiram Sibley formed

in Rochester what would become Western Union. After being closed for a number of years, the c. 1833 MacArthur House will reopen following a major refurbishing. It will now be available for new programming and small gatherings. Saturday evening concerts have been added to Celtic Faire and Fiddlers’ Faire events, while the Laura Ingalls Wilder Weekend is now a Wilder Weekend with new family fun and engaging activities. A new canine event will be introduced on August 26 in conjunction with National Dog Day.

sports & recreation Tobey, Manchester, D’Ettore, Davies net hat tricks for Blue Devils by Warren Kozireski Seniors Adam Tobey and Owen Manchester along with juniors Jake Davies and David D’Ettore all netted hat tricks to lead Brockport to their second boy’s lacrosse win of the season—15-5 over Gates-Chili. Tobey opened the scoring in the first minute of the game with an unassisted goal after he cut from behind the net. After the Spartans tied it 1-1 Ashton Howlett scored on a back-hand shot after a feed from Tucker Sutphen.

Thirty-two seconds later it was D’Ettore rushing the net and his shot hit the goalie and dribbled across the goal-line to make it 3-1 Blue Devils. The two teams traded goals the remainder of the first half as Brockport sophomore Dylan Vergari scored from 15 yards out and Sutphen added an unassisted goal in the second quarter as the Blue Devils held a 5-3 advantage at the half. The Spartans again closed to within one of the lead four minutes into the second half, but Tobey came out from behind the

Lucas double keys Blue Devils late rally by Warren Kozireski Senior Madi Lucas stroked a two-out, two-RBI double as Brockport rallied from a 1-0 deficit with four runs in the seventh inning to defeat Churchville-Chili 4-1 in girl’s softball. The Saints jumped out to a 1-0 lead in their half of the third inning on a Jenna Prewasnicak RBI single to right-center. Churchville-Chili pitching with sophomore Nicole Collom and junior Anna Wiater and defense kept the Blue Devils offense in check through six innings. After a 1-2-3 fifth, Brockport got their leadoff batter aboard in the sixth, but Saints catcher Maria Esposito picked the runner off first with a perfect throw. In the top of the seventh, Brockport senior Larissa VanDetta led off with a

bunt single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. One out later, freshman Emma Laureano stroked a single to center putting runners at second and third after the throw home. After a hard line-out to Saints third baseman Sarah Russell, who was playing in for the bunt, for the second out VanDetta scored on a wild pitch to tie the game 1-1. Senior Brianna Judd singled to center to score Laureano with the go-ahead run and, after an Olyvia Zinkiewich single, Lucas lined her two-out double to left-center to give the Blue Devils a 4-1 cushion. Brockport improved their record to 5-3 and, with the weather playing havoc with the early-season schedule, will play 11 games over a 15 day-span to complete the regular season.

Brongo’s rally Rangers by Warren Kozireski Sydney and Maddy Brongo stroked twoout RBI singles as Spencerport scored three times in the bottom of the fourth inning in a come-from-behind 4-3 win over Churchville-Chili in girl’s softball. The Saints built their 1-0 first inning lead to 3-0 in the second. Junior Alex Erickson and senior Maria Esposito both walked and eventually scored on three consecutive wild pitches. Spencerport plated one run in their half of the second as Kathleen Stewart walked with courtesy runner Amber White taking her spot at first. After a wild pitch put her at second, White scored on an error with two outs.

In the deciding fourth inning, freshman Sami Moschettieri led off with a single and went to second on a one-out single by classmate Alayna Berry. Kaylee Wikander walked to load the bases before, after a foul out, Sydney Brongo came through with a two-RBI single to center to tie the game 3-3. Maddy Brongo followed with an RBI single scoring Wikander from third for what would prove to be the game-winning run. The Saints had a runner in scoring position in the fifth, but had a runner thrown out at the plate trying to score on a force at second, In the seventh, a leadoff walk was retired on a game-ending 5-4-3 double play.

net to score twice in less than two minutes to put the Blue Devils up 7-4. The Spartans did score to make it a twogoal game, but Brockport responded just seven seconds later as Matt Heyden won the draw and fed Davies at 10:43 of the third. D’Ettore then converted a four-way pass play after Carson Daly collected a ground ball and quickly outletted a pass with 25

seconds left in the quarter. Brockport blew the game open with six unanswered tallies in the fourth quarter. Manchester scored all three of his goals sandwiching two from Davies and D’Ettore’s third of the game assisted by Howlett. The team has four games remaining in the regular season.

Coykendall has 11-points in Rangers win Choate, Pohleven also net hat tricks Blue Devils Daly, LoGiudice set career marks by Warren Kozireski Spencerport exploded for 11 second half goals to turn a 5-4 halftime lead into a 17-10 girl’s lacrosse win as junior Erin Coykendall, committed to Northwestern, figured in on 11 of those tallies with four goals and seven assists. The first half was a see-saw affair as neither team led or trailed by more than two goals. Sophomore Paige Pohleven took a pass from Natalie Choate to finish off a break and stake the Rangers to a 10 lead four minutes into the contest, but Brockport senior and University of LoyolaMaryland bound Leah Daly scored her first to tie the game 1-1. Coykendall set up behind the net and fed Choate for the go-ahead tally at 6:54 of the first half and did the same for Olivia Wall five minutes later, who used a pump-fake to freeze the goalie. Daly netted her second of the game on the next shift, but Choate countered at 15:44 to again put the Rangers up by two, The Blue Devils rallied to tie the game 4-4 as Tori Lammes scored unassisted as did eighth-grader Maija Young after a turnover. Coykendall scored with an assist from Camryn Sack, but Daly netted her third of the contest exactly one minute later to again tie the game 5-5. Spencerport was awarded a free possession with 1.7 seconds remaining in the first half and Choate found the upper right

corner of the net as the halftime horn sounded to put the Rangers ahead 6-5. Each team tallied three times through the first six-plus minutes of the second half as the Rangers Pohleven found the back of the net while falling down and Coykendall scored twice countered by goals from the Blue Devils’ Lammes (2) and Daly. The Rangers then took control scoring eight of the final ten goals. Lily DePalma scored twice and Sack once over a 2:08 span to put Spencerport ahead 12-8. After another Daly tally for Brockport, the Rangers scored five unanswered goals as Pohleven completed her hat trick at 16:13, Choate netted her fourth and fifth of the contest, Coykendall took a pass from Sack and converted at 23:31 and the two combined again 45 seconds later—this time with Sack scoring. With seven seconds remaining, Brockport’s Daly scored an unassisted goal—the 200th of her high school career. Earlier in the second half Blue Devils senior goalie Gabby LoGiudice made the 100th save of her career. Spencerport improved their record to 7-1 with the win.

Sweden renews push for signal light at Sherry Lane Sweden Supervisor Kevin Johnson and Highway Superintendent Brian Ingraham have met with the NYS DOT to begin the process for requesting a traffic light at the intersection of Sherry Lane and Route 31. The request was last made in 2009 and denied in 2010. The renewed effort follows another traffic fatality in the vicinity, but Johnson had begun to research the topic shortly after taking office in January. He grew up in the Sweden Village neighborhood (the town’s largest subdivision) that only has access to Route 31 through the uncontrolled Sherry Lane entrance.

Many Sweden Village residents choose to exit the development to the west on Route 19 and then head eastward towards Rochester rather than attempt to make a dangerous left-hand turn out of Sherry Lane. Johnson would like to gather support from the community before submitting the formal request to the NYS DOT. He is seeking general letters of support as well as anecdotal accounts of accidents and altered driving routes at the site. Please send letters to: Kevin Johnson, Supervisor, Town of Sweden, 18 State Street, Brockport, NY 14420.

Bowling Tournament raises funds in late Hilton student’s name - For the second year, Clio Lodge 779 in Hilton has organized a bowling tournament at Pleasure Lanes in memory of Dominic Cook, who passed away in December 2016. This year, Trustee Bill Hunn, along with Dominic’s father Lou Cook, Clio 779 Marshall, raised $1,360 through the tournament, which they donated to Dominic’s class at Merton Williams Middle School. Teacher Jamie Melos said that the money will be used to purchase T-shirts for students who participate in Special Olympics. Her students continue to remember Dominic by doing the fist bumps he loved to do, and playing his favorite games – “Monkey in the Cage,” “Turkey” and “Snail.” Dominic’s parents said that the event will be an ongoing fundraiser for the middle school. C-C students rally to support injured classmate The Churchville-Chili LEO Club held its 21st annual March Mayhem benefit basketball game on March 3 at the Middle School gym. The activity was to raise funds to support the family of Logan Biedrzycki. Logan is a member of the school ski team who was injured in January, suffering severe head trauma and breaking his leg in three places. Logan was in intensive care for five days with extensive swelling on his brain. He then underwent rehab, physical therapy and home schooling, which required his family to alter their work schedules so that he was never alone while he recovered at home. Logan, still on crutches, is now back at school. The LEO Club is comprised of students in grades 7 through 12 who do various community service activities. The LEO Club was joined by members of the Churchville Lions Club, their sponsoring organization. The school Unified Basketball program also participated and played against the LEOS in a fun-filled display of sportsmanship.

The boys and girls basketball programs also played against each other in a fast paced, highflying display of those students individual athletic abilities. In the end it was smiles all around and the only number that mattered was $1,853. That was the amount the students raised through sponsors and the generous donations of those in attendance. That amount was presented to the family after the game. The activity was organized by physical education teacher Mary Pat Dewey, who is also the LEO club advisor and coach of the Unified Basketball Program. Later in the day the smiles quickly disappeared when it was learned that Owen Schwartz, a member of the Unified Team, had suddenly died earlier that morning. Owen was deeply loved for his warm smile, engaging personality and hard work ethic. He is greatly missed by the entire Churchville-Chili school community. Provided information

Escape from the ordinary at Churchville-Chili Elementary School The determined Churchville Elementary School secondgraders in teacher Kristen Ockrins’ class weren’t going to let any sneaky leprechaun get the better of them. They wanted the hidden treasure in the magical box. Those multiple locks weren’t going to keep them out. In order to open the locked box, they had to decipher a series of clues in the form of tricky math problems. They couldn’t wait to get started. A fun math class? Filled with young learners excited about working together to solve math problems? What’s going on here? “We’re using the concept of escape rooms to make learning more dynamic,” said Churchville-Chili Instructional Coach Andrea Lynch. “It works great in elementary school math classrooms, like this. Escape rooms also work in high school psychology classrooms and middle school science classrooms. Our district teachers are adapting the model to be used at all grade levels and for all subjects.” The traditional escape room is a kind of scavenger hunt. It features a series of puzzles or riddles that players, working in teams, solve in order to win the ultimate challenge. “In the escape room format, students learn how to collaborate,” said Lynch. “They have to, in order to accomplish the objective within the time limit. It’s fascinating to see them become a cohesive team, focused on a goal. They take responsibility for their own learning. They use each other’s strengths, respect their differences, and help each other along.” Meanwhile, the adult educators in Ockrin’s class moved among the student teams, guiding and empowering them to find their own answers. As math problems were solved, one after the other, the individuals on each team grew in confidence. The experience was giving them much more than a mastery of math. “That’s the point,” said Lynch. “Yes, we’re teaching required math skills in a way that is fun, meaningful, memorable and student-driven. But we’re also helping them build critical life skills: problem solving, creative thinking, collaboration and teamwork.” Provided information

Comments Finding compassionate Brockport Recently, at a local coffee shop, it was recognized and appreciated how kindly customers were treated. The servers went out of their way to help the customers feel welcomed and to make sure they received good service. Also, at a local church that serves free lunches to anyone who wishes to stop in, it was noted how congenial everyone was and how much they were enjoying the food as well as the fellowship. In this day and age, when our computers ‘crash’ we are at a monumental loss as to how to proceed. Whether these machines are our home computers or business computers, our day may come to a screeching halt. This situation occurred recently for Agent Mobile, LLC. Just as all hope was lost Sunnking came to the rescue. As a representative from Agent Mobile stated, “Only in a place like Brockport, NY, would two competing businesses not only help one another, but go above and beyond in our greatest need. We at Agent Mobile, are extremely grateful.” Lastly, compassion and kindness are found everywhere if we only see it and appreciate it. This was the experience of a Brockport resident when he had to make a trip to the hospital with a family member. The maintenance worker was so caring that he recommended her for their “Shining Example” program. Bob and Barb Riley Brockport

The Return of Brockport’s Tower Clock Restored and to be restarted after 104 Years by Doug Hickerson On July 13, 2017, the clock mechanism and hands were removed from the Tower Clock atop the United Methodist Church on Main Street in Brockport. After more than 100 years of keeping time and tolling the hours, it had stopped about a year before. In caring hands for months at the Essence of Time Tower and Street Clock Experts in Lockport, the restored mechanism and hands were returned to the tower on Thursday, April 26. The Tower Clock is owned and maintained by the Village of Brockport. An assessment of Brockport’s Tower Clock by a leading authority During the day a Village DPW crew of three, supervised by foreman Dave Moore, carried heavy parts into the tower. The biggest challenge was in disassembling the heavy clockworks (see photo) and carrying the pieces into the floor of the tower about 60 feet below the clock faces. The technician who was reassembling the clockworks turned out to be Charles (“Chuck”) Roeser, none other than the owner of the national company Essence of Time. He started a small clock store and repair shop in 1973 and has become known as one of the leading authorities on historical clock restoration in the nation, according to the company web site. Roeser was asked how this clock matched up to similar ones in western New York. “We know that Seth Thomas Company made 3,200 of these tower clocks, all different models and sizes,” he said. “They made about 600 of this Model #15.” He explained there were a number of them in Buffalo, “but most of them are gone … taken out and sold,” he added with regret. “There is one like this left in Buffalo and there might be one in Rochester.” Historic value of the original mechanism Asked about any special features of this clock, Roeser said, “What’s unique is that it has all original parts and is manually wound.” In fact, those original parts in the intricate clockworks did not fail; it was the gears behind the dials (hands) that froze up, he added. For many other such surviving clocks, he explained, “Most of the escapement parts have been torn out of them and holes were drilled to mount electric motors.” The electric motors power the clockworks instead of the original weights that are manually cranked up on cables and slowly descend to drive the mechanism (similar to a “grandfather’s clock”).

From Roeser’s comments, it became clear that there is more than Village history being preserved in the restored Tower Clock. The project also safeguards a slowly disappearing original artifact in the centuries-old history of these Seth Thomas Clocks. It might not have been so. Dave Moore recalls many years ago hearing that Brockport officials were considering electrifying the Village’s Tower Clock. Wisdom prevailed and today the pulleys, cables, and weights are preserved in their original historic detail. Moore has made his own hands-on contribution to that preservation. A 30year employee with DPW, each week for about 20 of those years he turned the crank to wind the clock. Start up and rededication of the clock On that busy day April 26, Roeser disassembled and reassembled the clockworks. Moore’s crew, after toting clock parts upstairs, connected cables and weights and the drive shaft was put in place. Soon, Roeser will return from Lockport to reassemble the gears for the dials. The clock will be tested, but not started up permanently. There had been a plan to ceremoniously start the clock near the original May date in 1914, when the clock was started for the first time. With no time to accomplish that, the start-up will be combined with a rededication ceremony on June 25, the date when the clock was first dedicated in 1914. “The dedication was a signature event in the history of the village, attracting a crowd of 1,500,” Bill Andrews said. On June 25, the rededication ceremony will be held in Sagawa Park at 4:30 and the clock will be started at 5 o’clock. Plans are still being made for that event by the Brockport Lions Club collaborating with Village officials. The Tower Clock project has been a Legacy Project by the Lions Club, co-chaired by Lions John Carey and Dave Moore. The Lions Club’s fundraising has helped exceed the $21,500 needed to repair the clock (in addition to a Rochester Area Community Foundation grant and funds from community veterans organizations). The surplus is in a fund for the future maintenance of the clock. The fund will help increase the longevity of the clock, projected by Charles Roeser who said, “If maintained, oiled a couple of times a year, and taken care of, you should have 50 more years.” Dave Moore was asked what he thinks about preserving this rare time piece. “After 100 years, it’s amazing it still works,” he replied. “It’s a piece of Village history and we need to keep the history going.”

The words of former U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered in his 1941 State of Union Address inspired American artist Norman Rockwell to create his famous “Four Freedoms” paintings in 1943; and these words have continued to inspire artist Louis Ebarb today, leading him to initiate The Four Freedoms Project in 2017. In the months of May and June, Women’s Rights National Historical Park will be host to an exhibit of paintings and drawings in collaboration with the Four Freedoms Project titled, “The Four Freedoms Reinterpreted.” This exhibition opens with a reception at the park’s visitor center on May 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. From there, “The Four Freedoms Reinterpreted” will be on display at the park until the end of June. Both the reception and exhibit are free and open to the public. The Four Freedoms Project is meant to both inform and inspire. In response to Ebarb’s invitation, four artists with diverse cultural background and artistic styles each created four works for the Four Freedoms Project 2018. Together with Ebarb’s own four paintings, a total of 20 art pieces

What's stopping You?

When you decide to buy a home, you may feel resistance to doing some of the things that are necessary to turn your dream into a reality. An important part of our job as professional realtors is to help you overcome such resistance. When you locate the property you want to buy, you will have to handle many details within a very short period of time. There is a lot of paperwork, such as the financial statement and purchase agreement, in addition to the negotiations with the sellers. You may experience a range of emotions from mild jitters to profound buyers' remorse. It helps to remember that everyone who has purchased a home has experienced these same feelings -- "it's too much money" or "the local market will collapse completely the day after we close". Fortunately, almost none of these fears ever come true. As professional Realtors we are trained to take you through the home-buying jitters. For professional real estate advice, give me a call, Mary Lobene at 352-8529.
