Gathmann is majoring in Chemical Engineering.

To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all A’s) GPA. Daemen College announced the following area students achieved dean’s list status for the spring 2016 semester.

Hank Bryne Wedow, son of Lucy Wedow and Ed Wedow of Spencerport, graduated from the University of Rochester on Sunday, May 15, with a bachelor of arts degree in financial economics.

Wedow is a graduate of Spencerport High School.

Brennan Cockey of Spencerport, a graduate of Spencerport High School, has graduated cum laude from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio with a bachelor of music education degree.

Morrisville State College recently announced the students who were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must achieve a 3.0 to 3.99 GPA for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

Dennis Peak II of Holley is among Southeast Missouri State University’s spring 2016 graduates. Peak II graduated with a bachelor of science with a major in technology management: technology management option.

The Spencerport Lions Club presented the Student-of-the Year award to Alexis Larkin at the High School awards ceremony on May 26. The award consisted of a certificate and a $100 gift. This concludes this year’s program to honor students each month for their outstanding characteristics.

•Pvt. Amber Vanenwyck from Brockport completed the Army’s rigorous basic combat training and advanced individual training, culminating with a ceremony to mark start of training with her new unit, Headquarters and Support Company, 642nd Support Battalion.

The ceremony marks the completion of the National Guard Recruit Sustainment Program, a preparatory training program that provides new recruits with training, lessons and skills to excel at their initial military training.

The soldiers will now embark on their traditional National Guard service to state and nation as part time Citizen Soldiers.
