Caboot of Rochester (14624), earned a bachelor of science degree in earth science - adolescence education. •Christopher R. Di Vasta of Rochester (14626), earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration - finance. •Cori L. Barnard of Spencerport, earned a bachelor of science degree in communication - public relations. The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced that SUNY Oneonta senior Alyssa Brault, of Rochester, is the 2018 recipient of the SUNYAC Elite 20 Award in the sport of women’s tennis. Brault has also been selected to the All-Conference Team in women’s tennis. She plays at the No. 2 singles spot in the lineup.Brault put together a 7-3 record in singles play that includes a 5-1 mark in the SUNYAC. In doubles, she posted a 12-1 record going undefeated in conference play at 6-0. Brault, who is a mass communications major with a production concentration, holds a 3.93 GPA.
Emily Almeter of Gates, and a native of Spencerport, was one of three people honored by Daemen College during a white coat ceremony held September 24 at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Emily Almeter Center. Almeter is a 2017 graduate of Daemen College’s highly specialized cytotechnology program. The white coat ceremony is a symbolic rite of passage that officially recognizes cytotechnology students and graduates in their professional commitment to health care and clinical excellence in their field. Cytotechnology is a specialty within the spectrum of medical care that involves the microscopic interpretation of cells to detect cancer and other abnormalities. The following local students completed their baccalaureate studies at SUNY Oswego in summer 2018. •Alicia P. Smith of Rochester, completed a bachelor of arts degree in broadcasting and mass communication. •Casey A. Kitrinos of Spencerport, completed a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
