Although the day may come where the whole world will get to hear Brianna’s voice, Colleen emphasizes on the fact that her daughter comes from a simple family carrying a beautiful message, and that’s it. “We appreciate it for what it’s worth. We appreciate everything - we appreciate every breath.” Brianna’s plans for the future involve producing more music and appearing for additional performances as they come along. Her next project will involve working with Elvio Fernandez from the band Daughtry to help write and produce her next EP. Brianna will also continue to work with her vocal coach as well as Johnny Cummings to take on even more endeavors. On December 19 Brianna will appear for her fourth consecutive performance at the annual CF Ball to raise money for Rochester patients in the name of Jenna Simmonetti. The Collichios encourage the public to attend this event in gratitude for all that the “Just Breathe” Foundation has provided for their family as well as the local CF community as a whole. All throughout Brianna’s journey, she has made it a priority to live a normal lifestyle as best as she can. Her other hobbies include playing basketball, hiking, swimming, and spending time with her family and friends. Brianna clarified how she doesn’t want to be identified as the little girl with CF that can sing, but rather as a girl who can sing, but also happens to have CF. To sum it up, Brianna’s identity is herself - not her disease. No matter where life takes her, Brianna promises to stay true to herself and the Lord and live life to the very fullest. Candidate: Annie Crane Candidate: Lori Skoog Sweden Town Supervisor Sweden Town Council The Town of Sweden is a diverse community embracing everything from farmland to a densely populated village, which hosts a college campus. The residents of the town reflect the variety of this landscape. This is both an asset and a challenge. It is imperative that the government of this town meets the needs of all of our residents, from all parts of the town. To do this, the board needs to be open to opinions and input. We need a town board that works well with the village board, for the betterment of both the town outside the village and the village itself. The board should coordinate with our largest employer, the College, on quality of life issues as well as planning for our intertwined future. We need to work with other organizations such as Library Board, the Walk Bike/Active Transportation Committee and other civic groups. Their volunteers work hard for our community. They deserve our support. Decades of control by the same group of people has resulted in complacency and stagnation. Party labels are not important in local politics - what matters is true representation. We need a town board that reflects the diversity of viewpoints and lifestyles of the town, and has the ability to work cooperatively with others. Lori Skoog, Mary Rich and I will bring those traits to the board. Vote for the Campaign for Change on November 3.

Annie Crane Candidate for Sweden Town Supervisor

Candidate: Mary Rich Sweden Town Board At the national level in politics, Americans have been frustrated for a long time. The overall feeling is that we are not being represented well by our politicians. While being involved in community activities and knocking on doors during this campaign season, I have heard the same frustrations with our current Sweden Town Board. For the first time in years there is an opportunity for a choice when it comes to voting on November 3. Rather than a one party rule that limits our potential, we can elect a mixed town board. This new town board will represent the diversity of our population. A mixed board will make sure there are checks and balances, new ideas, varied interests and opinions. This will lead to a better community that is being served well by its leaders. I am truly interested in what the people of Sweden have to say. I look forward to working with Annie Crane, and Lori Skoog to make the Town of Sweden an even better place to live. Mary Rich, Candidate for Sweden Town Board

I have lived in the Town of Sweden since 1966 and over time have become more and more active in our community, serving on committees and participating in local groups and events. In 2014 I became involved in an effort to keep the Senior Center from being sold. Out of concern, I decided to do something about it and discovered that it’s possible for a group of citizens to have an impact on decisions being made by our town government. The timing was right, and when I was approached to consider running for office I said yes. So here we are, it is almost November 3. Who should you vote for? Should you only vote for members of your party, or should you vote for the people who would best serve you? To me, the ideal candidate should be someone who is visibly active in the community, has integrity, and is willing to listen to town residents when making decisions that have an impact on our quality of life. A two party system has rarely existed in our town, and I think it’s time to have a second opinion that ensures the representation of all citizens. You deserve better. To have better oversight, better fiscal management, better relationships with the village, college and library, and better responses to community concerns. Whether you live in the village or in the town, Annie Crane, Mary Rich and I want to work with you. Lori Skoog Candidate for Sweden Town Council

Candidate: Rob Carges Sweden Supervisor For 22 years, I’ve served Sweden residents on the town board and I’m asking for a second term as Supervisor. Why? Because I believe I have the experience, the knowledge and the commitment to continue the good work we’ve done. If you live in the Village of Brockport, like I do, you’re paying just a few dollars more in town taxes than you did 9 years ago – less than $5 more on a house assessed at $125,000. If you live in the town outside the village, in a house assessed at $125,000, you’re paying about $34 more than you were 9 years ago. Keeping taxes that stable is hard work. I’m willing to do that hard work and keep your taxes low into the future. During this same time period, the town has preserved services. We provide some services that neighboring municipalities do not – notably spring junk pick-up, electronic recycling, cemetery operations and all-age inclusive recreation programs and facilities. We work well with our municipal partners – sharing equipment, expertise and manpower. We have stepped up to the plate for the Seymour Library when it had budget shortfalls. I meet regularly with the Mayor of Brockport and with the other Monroe County Supervisors to discuss issues of common interest. Most of all, I enjoy working with the residents of the Town of Sweden. We have a wonderful community with a great history and great potential. With your support, I want to continue the town on its successful path. Rob Carges Sweden Supervisor

Take a Walk

Walking is the most accessible, beneficial and inexpensive form of exercise available. The American Chiropractic Association recommends it as a way to stay fit. Accessible? Walk out your front door Dr. Christopher J. Sigillo, D.C. and get started. Beneficial? Walking will strengthen your lungs, heart and circulation. It will ease stress, improve cholesterol levels and kick your metabolism into high gear. It will also help you control blood pressure and your weight. And it will tone the muscles in your legs and abdomen. Inexpensive? A comfortable, supportive pair of shoes designed for walking is your only required investment. When contemplating any new form of exercise, you should consult with your medical doctor to make sure you’re up to it. And as with any new exercise program, don’t overdue it. Exercising too much too soon, even if you’re just walking, might cause soreness or even a minor injury that will keep you from exercising. A five - to ten-minute walk three to five times a week is a good way to start. You can expand the duration and quicken the pace of the walking from there. Talk with your chiropractor for more information on the benefits of walking. Presented as a community service by

Local ministry receives grant to share a little spirit The Brockport Unitarian Universalists seek to engage the entire community in meaningful ways and to invite deepening and diversity outside the traditional Sunday morning experience. “Supper, Song and Spirit” began as an experiment in community building in the winter of 2014. This “test drive” proved worthy and was awarded a significant Gilbert Spirit Fund Grant in June 2015 to continue development into the coming year. The Grant is specifically aimed at projects that address social concerns as well as the arts. From it’s inception, “SSS” brings the best of community together, weaving interfaith relationships across the boundaries of class, race, gender and faith, with a shared meal, local music, story and dialog. The choice to locate “SSS” Supper, Song and Spirit at the Brockport Fireman’s Exempt on West Avenue in Brockport increased the possibility that diverse peoples within the community might seek out an opportunity to eat and sing together, listen to local storytellers and musicians while exploring universal themes’. The informal atmosphere makes it easy for families, young people and singles to participate. Keeping the “Town Troubadour” tradition alive enlists the talents of many local singer-songwriters and storytellers. The Gilbert Spirit Fund grant provides monetary support to the artists. Scott Regan shares he’s music November 20. “SSS” runs on volunteer goodwill and is donation based. A third of all proceeds are used to advance social justice in the community. The sponsoring Brockport Unitarian Universalist Fellowship actively supports the Brockport Food Shelf, Clothing Shelter and BEOC. Provided information

RIDGECREST TURKEY FARM LLC

Candidate: Don Roberts Sweden Town Board

Fresh Dressed Free Range Turkeys

Four years ago when I ran for my first term on the Sweden Town Board, I had no idea of the tough and controversial issues that would come before the board. Now running for my second term, I understand the difficulties a town board faces and I am even more committed to seeking the seat than I was the first time. Our community needs town board members who make reasoned decisions – not emotional decisions or decisions based on popularity. I believe I have helped the town board make good, reasoned decisions for our constituents, especially in the face of controversy. We research the facts, we seek the counsel of experts and we weigh the diversity of opinions. I believe this is the process that our residents want and respect. What do I want to accomplish in my next term? I want to continue the Sweden Town Board’s history of only raising taxes when absolutely necessary and reducing taxes when possible. That’s what we’re doing this year – reducing the tax rate slightly because it’s possible. I want to continue, even expand, our partnerships with other municipalities to keep costs down. The town provides many great services for all of our residents and specialized services via districts. All of these services are important to the residents who use them. I want to preserve those services, improve them where possible and promote them so that all of our residents take full advantage of what is available. Thank you for your support.

The Town of Sweden has been notified it will receive funding from The Rochester Area Community Foundation to continue the restoration of the Soldiers Memorial Tower on Owens Road in the Town of Sweden. Noted architect Clarence Birdsall designed the tower in 1894 as a memorial to Sweden’s fallen Civil War Soldiers. While popular as a tourist attraction in its early years, the tower had fallen into a state of disrepair so severe that there arose concern that it would completely collapse. In 2013, the Town of Sweden acquired the tower property and undertook a stabilization project. The town hired noted local mason Steve Monno who rebuilt a missing buttress; stabilized the foundation; leveled the jagged top of the tower (about 20% of the top had collapsed); and installed a copping stone cap to stop further water penetration and freeze/thaw damage into the tower. The stones that had fallen from the tower were washed and put on pallets for storage at the town’s highway garage for future restoration. A faux wrought iron fence was installed around the tower to deter vandalism. The highway crew keeps a path from the fire station to the tower site so that visitors may appreciate the historic structure. The newly announced funding from the Rochester Area Community Foundation will help the town pay for the repointing of all mortar joints. The repointing will help preserve the tower for many years to come and perhaps someday, the stones held in storage will be used to reconstruct the top of the tower. Provided information

District Governor visits Holley Rotary Club - Rotary District Governor Kevin Crosby recently visited the Holley Rotary Club. He congratulated the club on its focus in the community, especially the projects that support local youth and families. During his visit, Club President Jeffrey Martin presented Governor Crosby with a $500 check for the Rotary Foundation. The Foundation supports projects throughout the world that address education, hunger, water and sanitation and health issues. Currently the Foundation is working with the United Nations to eradicate polio. In the photo, Governor Kevin Crosby (left) receives the check from President Jeffrey Martin (right).
