Officer Chris Glogowski who is a Full Time Officer with Holley Police Department. The Holley Police Department is a full time Police Department staffed by 2 Full Time Officers and 9 Part Time Officers. Over the past year the Holley Police Department has made several improvements and positive changes with the focus being on service the community better. The Holley Police Department was in need of senior leadership when the Holley Police Chief resigned in late 2015. In October of 2015 the Village of Holley entered into an agreement with the Village of Albion to allow the Albion Police Chief, Roland Nenni, to serve as both the Holley Police Chief and the Albion Police Chief. This agreement resulted in the two agencies working closely together and sharing resources such as training, leadership and supervision. This resulted in a cost savings for both municipalities and increased services for the community. The Holley Police Department in early 2016 faced several staffing difficulties by trying to provide full time coverage with all Part Time Officers. The problem was rectified by adding 2 Full Time Officers thus creating fewer staffing issues. This has also created a better service to the community as these officers are focused and dedicated to serving the community on a full time basis. The Police Department was evaluated by Chief Nenni and several Operational, Administrative and Facility changes were made. The Officers focus has become more of a proactive service model rather than a reactive one. Operationally the department is focused on the needs of the community and to provide the best service possible in crime prevention and in apprehension.
The Police station took on a major improvement with the focus on safety for Officers, Civilians and Suspects. A high quality Video/Audio surveillance systems was installed along with the an office layout change that now provides safety for everyone who is in the facility. All the work that was done, was done within the current allotted budget and did not result in an increase in budget to accomplish. The Department is working hard to always improve and provide better Police Services for the people of the Village of Holley. The Holley Police will be taking part in the County Wide National Night Out event on August 1 at Bullard Park in Albion. National Night Out will feature many Emergency Responder Demonstrations and many other events for an entire family to enjoy. We have also just installed our Medication Drop Box in our lobby. Anyone with unwanted or unused medications can now properly dispose of them at the Police Station.
